Next Up 90/90 Ron Vitello's DVD

I know Ron and Dave have worked together, and that is a good idea.
I always try to run them by a few people before I finalize the video.
After looking at them in editing you tend to glaze over, and another opinion helps. I will talk to Ron about this when we film.
Thanks,
Mark

No need to get anyone else to look at the clips other than RONV! He was a TOP Hollywood editor with movies like Missing in Action, Bloodsport and Deep Throat to his credit. Enough said ;)

I have been very fortunate to work with some of the top player/coaches in pool. In continuing with the highest level of instruction available, I am excited to announce that Ron Vitello the originator of the 90/90 Aiming and Banking Systems has agreed to work with me to produce his new 2 DVD set.

We are set to start filming next week.

I need your input on things you want to see, or questions you have that we can answer in the video.

Ron also has a workbook that contains 175 practice shots, it is a spiral bound book with diagrams that you can take to the table to set up the shots.
We are looking for feedback as to whether we should combine the book with the DVDs.
Ron feels the book with the DVD would be the best solution. You can watch the DVDs then take the workbook to the table, set it on the edge and have the shots diagramed there for you.
Please give us your feedback, and any questions. We want to hear from you so we can answer your questions.
Thank you,
Mark Otto

Could you ask Ron to explain the way he makes the shots in this diagram.
I also no how the 90/90 system works i would just like to hear him explain how he would make all the shots.
I think Ron's a great guy and good luck in making the video.
Will be buying it.;)

Thanks, I will try to show exactly what he is seeing when he aligns and doing when he pivots. I will be using 4 or 5 cameras so I should have every angle covered. Ron knows how to film and edit as posted above. I think he will make this an excellent lesson on the system and I hope to learn a lot about pool and editing.

Banks and Thin Cuts

I'd like to see his bank system covered extensively. Plus I have heard lots about his thin cut technique.

I called Ron a few years ago and he was very gracious with his time, tried some of his techniques, I currently use some of those principles in conjunction with the CTE/Pro1 method.

My 2 cents in order to get the best product:

- Multiple camera angles and close ups where needed (sound like you have that covered)

- Thorough explanations, especially when adjustments for various ranges of shots come into play

- Good explanation of the hip or "air" pivot option

- Explanation of use of 90/90 with regards to banks or other specialty shots

- Peer review (I'd be happy to volunteer!!!) - no matter how skilled Ron or other people involved are in filming/editing, it's helpful to have some outside help in viewing and critiquing the material. This makes sure that everything is easy to understand for people that are new to the concepts, sometimes when you are so close to and fluent with the material it's easy to gloss over key fundamentals or omit critical steps. I know I have to be conscious of this when I teach various things.

Thanks!
Scott

Review by non-experts

While review by someone like Spidey is sure to be valuable, review by others that are unfamiliar with the material should be able to point out any parts that are not easily understood by the target audience.

Of course, I volunteer too.

I agree. It's best reviewed by those who are new to pivot aiming.

Maybe a cap camera can be placed on Ron's head while he is shooting.

all you have to do is go through all the cte threads and find out where people had problems. I know what should be on the dvd. Hopefully you wont have PJ, dr dave, Lou etc attacking your material and you will do well with this project, good luck.

Thank you Champ, I do not care if they join in, If someone has a question we can answer on the DVD, I want it covered as best as we can. I think we are all trying for the same thing (to figure this game out, as best as we can). I have said before that I do not think everyone learns the same, some will get it and some will not! And it will work better for some than others. I do not intend to argue about it, my job is to capture it as best as I can..Time will tell if I do my job..
If you know what needs to be on it please email or pm it to me..
Thanks,
Mark

I can't tell you how happy I am for you and Ron to be getting together on this project! I know together, you guys are going to put out an awesome product! When I first called Ron I was very frustrated with my game. Ron has a direct no BS way of making the game simple. I'ts still hard to believe how lucky I am to have Ron as a teacher, and even more importantly, a friend. I am not even close to being a professional player, but I can still remember how excited he was when I called from Derby this year to tell him I lucked up in my first round of banks and got by banks specialist Jason Miller. Ron is a class act and super knowlegable about this game. I have been taught his 90/90 system, and I still can't wait to buy this product! I think his teachings are that strong!

I'm mostly interested in his banking and kicking systems, hopefully they are both covered at length.

We are doing 2 DVDs (approx. 4 Hours) I believe 2 hours or more will be on banks and kicks.
