I was at a local tournament here and I got the chance to film this shot with my cell, please excuse the quality but I think this a very nice shot. 9 is trapped in the jaws of the left corner, and the 2 next to the right corner, snookered behind the 7. Score was 10-10, race to 13, the final match.

What do you think ? This guy bumped me out from the competition !

I don't think this is any kind of special shot. Being hooked, he only had a few options. Kicking at the 2 was 1, pocketing the 9 (as a foul) was another, and pocketing the 3-2 combo (as a foul) is another. Other than these, there's not much else to do.

He elected to kick it. A few things could have happened here - but he got a good roll and pocketed the 9. He could have just as easily missed the 9 and sold out.

I would categorize this closer to limited options, good intentions followed with a great roll, more than I would say this is a great shot. Maybe a great result is the best way to describe it.

Anyone taking well over a minute to actually execute a shot like this after (apparently) having already made the decision he was going to kick, is one of the things that makes me want to scream at him to "effing well hit it for f***ks sake!".....have similar issues with players on the golf course....pray for me :)

Great shot

I know what you mean Mikey, by taking all the time and and "milking the crowd"
It puts a fire under me,too, but I think it was a great shot also, and not one everyone can make. I don't believe he just kicked and got lucky.

What a cool shot. I agree that it is more of a one pocket sort of shot.

As for you all that seem easily irritated that people take their time on shots, count me in! :D

I get pretty fraustrated when I can see what shots you are taking and how you should shoot it, and you could've executed it in under a minute and you took freaken five, that pushes my button. BUT! I also learned to cope with it, sit back and just occupy myself with something else to do, rather than sharking yourself and disturbing your own mental state. As we all know, pool is a large part a mental game, and you have to be calm and relaxed when you shoot.

Happy shooting! :)

haha he did milk it a little, the video is 1:17 but you can pretty much skip the first 1:10 of it.

I also don't know that I'd say it wasn't special and was just a nice roll etc.
I'd like to think he agonized over it because he could see that the ball was "on" to kick across into the 9, and he figured out how hard and thin he needed to hit to pull that off.

Well if you think it is this easy you must be pro players, ha ? I dare you try this in the finals at 10-10 with 90 percent chances to miss and deliver the game to your opponent.
He took the time because a lot of side spin was used. Also the 7 didn't allowed for a lot of margins of error.

Chino, I guess you don't like "fast" players like Ralf Souquet ?
