He just won the European 9 ball championship and has been on really consistent form of late. I know he is well known for the Mosconi cup but heard he did well at the DCC this year too.

Is it just me or do you think he should be in the mention for best player in the world right now? Rotation games, at least?

Ye Im following him on Facebook. And this guy is super disciplined and mentally a rock (as most dutchies :P).
Also the fact he is playing in German competition playing weekly.
I wonder why he is not invited by the CSI?

Yes he should be mentioned in the top 15 imo

He won the DCC nineball one year iirc. I heard he ran FIFTEEN racks (not 16) so i asked him in Vegas that year and he confirmed it. Lovely wife Katrine plays B speed as well. Not sure she plays anymore though.

first. He is a champion no doubt, but the best rotation player in the world is Shane.

I think I would put Dennis #1 rotation player and SvB #1 over all..

In pure ball pocketing and patterns Dennis is incredible..

IMO they are like 1a and 1b really..

If they are in a tournament who would or could be favored over them or really near them

There is a great article about Niels in this months Billiard Digest. Very interesting read about his life and improvements that he has made in his game the last few years.

He is one of my favorite players because of his work ethic and ability on the table. Most of his matches are played in Europe right now. Would be nice to see him play a series of events in the states to see how he actually matches up. I would think he would do well here as well. The guy is clutch.

Love the way he approaches the game with great focus and determination, no bullshit with him.
Real personable fellow as well.

I personally think he is top quality and like many of the top euros he has a snooker background which has helped that focus and you see in his mannerism's. What I like about Niels and appleton even shaw to an extent more so than melling is they have fully adapted to pool and there knowledge of kicking and jumping now is exceptional.

i would put Niels up against anyone 9 ball on a tough table like hardtimes. Top 5 in world im saying

I never heard of him playing snooker. I have heard of Bert kinister hollering at him though.

The label "best player is the world" is subjective. I'd put him top 10 and capable in beating anybody in 14.1 and rotation.

Tell me who your best player is and I can find a video of someone beating him.

That's just my top 10 but there are 10 other guys just as good as 3 through 10 imo
