Thanks as always, Dennis, for your generously extended time and the work involved in bringing such matches to us via Youtube. Hugely enjoyable!
And having watched Niels only briefly before this, it was mighty elucidating to suddenly become aware of his beautiful little pause at the end of every backswing prior to the delivery stroke. And as deliberate a player as he his, he does it on every shot, and makes it a micro-second longer on every break shot.
His brief pause is nowhere near as extended as Cisero's, Buddy's or Allison's, but essentially serves the identical physical/mechanical purpose as theirs, while being noticeably longer in duration than Sigel's silky-smooth and barely perceptible backward-forward transition pause. These pauses are hard to consciously incorporate and can even be counter-productive if it seems too unnatural after trying them out for a while. But I admire their deadly efficient effect when certain top players have acquired them over millions of stroke repetitions and steady cancellation of personal stroke inefficiencies.
He's got many other admirable fundamentals in other respects with regard to consistent follow thru and staying down unfailingly on every shot. A very confident, meticulous player.
Thanks again for the opportunity to watch these two pros with visibly very diverse playing characteristics, and both of them great champions when they're in peak form.
