Nine banks using BAMB

Been looking at a few helmet cams... I think Max used the gopro hero but not asked him... which one are u using?? I don't want to get the fisheye.....

Good shooting btw....

Those were some sweet banks! Awesome setup you've got going on there. I usually hate these POV kind of helmet cam videos with pool but this one was stable and nice to watch!

Thanks for sharing.

Camera

Mine's the GoPro Hero 3. The fisheye effect is pretty annoying, but I guess I'm getting used to it. The worst thing about the camera for me is that the lens is over my left eye and I'm right eye dominant. In other news, sometimes I gripe about stupid things.

Your youtube name is familiar. Did you used to have a pool-related website? If you are the person I am thinking of it was very informative and entertaining.

Edit: Found it! http://www.barenada.com/pool.shtml

Man I used to look at that site back in the day all the time!

Max does use a GoPro Hero 2. I actually have a Hero 3 Black and it's possible to shoot 'narrow' when you are shooting at 1080p. That being said, it could never be used for competition because the damn thing will only hinder a player.

The one thing that will truly enhance the game of pool and deliver a richer experience to the viewer is this particular 'point of view' down the line of the cue, but I agree it shouldn't be shot that 'wide'. It's going to take another 3 years or so of expensive R & D for this to develop further. It should also include a lightweight RF transmission pack for 'live' broadcast.

That's just more heavy gear that Earl Strickland is just NOT gonna want to wear for more than 1/2 a rack of 9-ball.

Thanks!

Lens

I've seen some mention of some sort of add-on or lens replacement for the Hero camera that's supposed to get rid of the fisheye effect. What I saw was that it was more expensive than the camera.

Nice shooting!!! I'm also a long time fan of your old site. I still have all those shots saved as .pdf somewhere. I know I got them printed out and in my practice binder.

Great to see you are back playing again. I used visit your site all the time until you stopped updating the pool side so I had to switch to OMGWTF. I hope you stay with it and maybe I will have a chance to see you at Derby City.

Sweet Georgia pine! Barenada!

I used to give your site hits daily.

I give your banking video drills props. I used to go to my local pool hall and practice what you were uploading. Your banking drills helped me immensely. Thank you.

Derby

I hope you stay with it and maybe I will have a chance to see you at Derby City.

I played in it this year. First time since 2007 or so. Lost to Chris Gentile in the first round, then to some straight shooting youngster in round six. Had fun.

When I open the link I was expecting to see someone "special",,lol to be banking the cue ball 9 rails.

And BAMB!! He was on a tear!!!
