From what I have read on AZB some of the postings are more literate than others.
Read the literature and then decide for yourself. That is why I cited the literature before referring you to the short articles I have written.
In general (not always) when the more serious articles are presented on Wikepedia they are reviewed and updated by people who know the topic well. When things are posted that are not accurate they are often updated by people who know what they are talking about. That is one of the appeals of the Wiki: The world participates in the construction of it. Within the good review articles, like the one referenced, there are references to the literature that lead to the conclusions presented. You can dig deeper as you prefer.
Within the actual articles the authors often cite the opposing points of view and thus you have a reference to what the minority says as well as the people who wrote the articles. So within the wiki reports you have the very real names of the people who have studied, how they studied, and what they found. Because it is all laid out before you you can of course form your own opinion based on some of the best available information.
If you do not want to be bothered by the facts or consensus opinion that would be your choice. Others who post here might find them of interest. It is certainly true that there is a continuing search for the best information and our (western civilization's) ideas are continually under review.
For my part I do not place much credence in any one person's opinion. It is just that and of limited use. I prefer the consensus from many people who have studied the topic over many years. Each may have their own bias but when taken together the truth (as best we can know it - today) seems to come through.
Incidently, any thinking person should be leary of any information presented. That it what it means to be a thinking person. Some information is better than others but it needs to be reviewed with a skeptical frame of mind.
And this is coming from Sigmound Frued. Sorry I couldn't resist.
