Kinda a random tip for a rather annoying detail.

I just got a Jump cue and a break cue for fathers day love em.

The problem is that my case is a 3x3. But the big pocket is about an inch too short for the butt of my jump cue.

My awesome solution:
I made two small rolls (cylinders) of news paper (The New York Times) taped closed with scotch tape. One of the cylinders I cut in half. I put these cylinders in a empty spot in my case. Now I can put my jump cue butt in the main case.

It is so handy to grab, that even if I had a larger main pocket I doubt I would use it for my jump cue butt.

Try it you'll like it...

Very inventive! I hope you don't have the need for another cue in your case! LOL

Good job for modding your case to fit your needs though.

Just so you know

I have a regular Leather Jump Butt case that I would be willing to sell if you so desired.

buy a stering wave case 4 x 8 (google for the best deal)
get a sleeve for the jump butt (call sterling)
so the butt doesnt get stuck

and you are good to go

More and more people are modding there cases for jump cues its becoming the new normal for jump cues. I was a little lucky i was able to stuff my wolly jump cue in my case had to stretch shaft sleeve for the thicker but but oh well it fits now.

You don't need a sleeve for the jump butt on Sterling Wave cases. All Sterling Wave cases on the market now already have a dedicated slot for a jump butt inside the main (large) pocket on the outside of the case. That is, when you unzip the main pocket, you'll see the slot for a jump cue butt on the inside of the flap (cover) for the main pocket.

And, those with Sterling Wave cases know just how large that main pocket is -- you can easily fit the largest of cue extensions (e.g. Hager) inside there -- so the length of a jump cue butt is no problem.

However, that was a clever idea that the OP thought of, to utilize his existing case to fit a jump cue without losing it inside the butt slots.

You may have a hard time getting the paper out.

I bought a cheap wooden broom stick, cut off some of the handle, and used that for a spacer.
