As I mentioned in old thread the other day, (http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=190106), Noel Mendoza has again stepped to the plate and donated a cue to the Straight Pool World. This is a brand new model and the winner can substitute a carom shaft for the pool shaft if he or she wants.

We will be raffling it off at the Red Shoes Straight Pool Qualifier this July 6, 2013. The money will help defray the costs involved with sponsoring the event. Tickets go for $5, or 3 for $12. When I did this a few years ago, I opened it up to the guys on this forum who could paypal me the money and then I would purchase tickets for you with the monies.

As it turned out last time, one from our forum, Sean Leinen was lucky enough to be the winner. Below are some pictures and if interested you can paypal me at gwtlaw@aol.com or I think some banks like Chase will even allow you to send funds direct to my email at no charge. Or you can mail a check or money order to me at Guest, Walsh & Townsend, 120 West Madison Suite 1100, Chicago, IL 60602.

Gene Mann and Gerard Soriano have already bought tickets based on the old thread. Thanks, guys.

Noel Mendoza has donated cues before to straight pool and three cushion causes in Chicago and around the country. He worked for and with Ray Shuler for many years and his Schuler cues are famous the world over. We appreciate what he has done to help advance the cue sports. Winner. Winner.

Believe it or not, our own Sean F. Leinen wins again.

Thanks for supporting Straight Pool and Red Shoes Billiards and I hope you run 100+ with your new cue.

Thanks for the congrats, folks (both here and on Facebook). Believe me, I was stunned when I got the news. Twice? Really? I am honored.

I can say that these Noel Mendoza Schuler cues have a happy home, and are actively seeing time at the table. In fact, I will be using them at the 14.1 qualifiers, and, if I'm fortunate, at the 14.1 Worlds itself. Noel is customizing an OB Classic Pro shaft for these cues as I write this. Anything I can do to support straight pool, Noel Mendoza, Red Shoes Billiards, Dennis Walsh, the World 14.1, etc., I will.

As soon as I receive the cue and the shaft, I will post pics and a review to the forum.

Looking forward,
-Sean
