What happened to the northeast 9ball tour? I have heard all kinds of stories from leon getting locked up for embeselment to Joss brothers cheating.I highly would doubt both as Joss Brothers can shoot a ton and was honest and Leon was a nice guy that did not appear to me would do any wrong.I have a ton of players visit my shop and say how can I get into something like that.I think the northeast 9 ball tour was a great thing. Will it be comeing back ? What happened anyhow? It was a great start for alot of players. Was it that planet pool took over the scene as they ran at the same time?

No, Mike. He is definitely NOT talking about the Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour. Mike Zuglan would cringe if he read that about his Joss Tour.

There used to be a tour in the Pennsylvania region with a very similar name. I got the names of the two tours mixed up myself one time, but each tour has the word "NORTHEAST" in their title.

As we know, the Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour is running strong. However, this other tour, definitely not associated at all with Joss or Mike Zuglan, fell into a bad light when the TD did not pay out the monies owed to the players towards the end of the season. There were MANY threads about this incident on CCB and AzBilliards last year.

If you're looking for a nice regional tour in the Pennsylvania area, I'd suggest the Hampton Ridge Tour. The tournaments are generally one-day events held on Sundays only, which is very economical and saves lodging and travel costs for out-of-towners and the 9-to-5 employed pool players.

Jam, thanks for clearing that up for me. I didn't think anything like that ever happened with the Joss Tour but it was the only tour with the NE name that I could think of.

Actually, the Hampton Ridge Tour IS the former Northeast 9 ball tour, although there is a new person running it. Yes the former TD Leon did take the year end prize pool money and use it for his personal purposes. Jose Burgos took over, has nothing to do with Leon and has so far, run a good, straight up tour. Nice guy too. I can't say I've ever seen Josh Brothers cheat. Everytime I've ever played him, he's always been respectful and straight up.

I'll second that. Not sure if he had any kind of dealings with Leon at all, but I think Josh Brothers is a super nice, straight up kid.

Yes ,He's a kid in the north eastern region that is very consistant -a sportman-and trains alot.He would be my pick out of the younger
generation to become a top pro.He has what it takes just needs a few years atleast from what I saw of him.

I've found that different browsers react differently to the website: Netscape 7.1 (and other versions) will not access this site at all. Internet Explorer 6.0 accesses most of the website o.k.

I don't want to be funny, but is it my imagination or does their Web site look a bit like ours? (www.planet-pool.com ) Sans the header graphic, of course. Those slanted dividers between the links in their navigation bar looks an aweful lot like the ones I created from scratch in Corel 11 about two years ago... hmm, don't know what to think of that.

Dang Nick...now you have me all interested, but the page won't open with Firefox. I don't care that much to deal with the spyware from IE. :( Oh well, maybe I'll remember to look at work in the A.M. :D

BTW, Jose seems like a real great guy and I wish him continued luck with this tour.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't an attack on Jose or the Hampton Ridge Tour--after all, we're all working towards the same goal now--but I'm just wondering if his Web designer was maybe a little lazy...

Maybe his/their web page designer took what i would call maybe a little poetic license... but should have asked first anyway.....mike

Hate to break the news to everyone, but Josh is not the saint that people are painting him out to be.
Just a week ago, i watched him play someone some 1 pocket, and i believe he won 150. From there, he was yelling at this other guy to get up there and gamble, and was harping on this guy to play for about 20 minutes.

He then proceeded to lose like 80 bucks or 100, and was all sorts of pissed. He then gave the guy a 20, told him tough SH@# and went and payed his time, and walked out. saying that he didn't have to pay him, and a bunch of other excuses when the guy demanded his money.

BASICALLY, He was walking around with a tough luck what are you gonna do to me attitude, and laughed in the other guys face.

Fortunately for him, the other guy isn't keen on fighting, but there were many others in the room, that were saying, that if it happened to THEM, Josh Brothers wouldn't be playing pool for a while.
Both his arms would be broken, and he can KEEP the money!
Now don't get me wrong, as i happen to like Josh and have never had a problem with him. (he also knows that i would never tolerate a move like that)
but he is STEADILY becoming known for being "BAD ACTION" No one wants to even deal with him cause of his rep.

That is not to say he is a crappy player, and sucks, cause it's just not true.
He plays great, but it's his ethics that are all messed up.

Probably gonna take someone hurting him before he realizes that he's playing the wrong game.

and that's not the only case.

There was a case where he begged this guy who loses a lot of money to play some game with the 3 out, and got tortured, and he ended up stiffing him out of a few hundred, and then there is the case of where he negotiated a game between this forums own BackPocket9Ball and Josh's girlfriend. When his girlfriend proceeded to lose, Josh stiffed him the last game for 50(he was backing her) .....and these are just a few.

His other racket, is that once he gets stuck and it's on the wire, he doesn't quit and plays till he's even, and if you want to stop winners, he uses that as a reason to get in an argument with you and subsequently stiff you.

Great player. Completely unethical gambler.

I don't know if this is all alien to other people in the pool world, but it is commonplace in my local poolroom.
If your asking yourself why don't people wise up, half of them just don't think he would do it to THEM. They watch him do it to others, but think that they are immune or something cause they talk and joke with him and perceive him as their buddy, and then they are left scratching their head wondering what went wrong.

SUPERSTAR
