Lookin' at this pic I consider who was the best in the world then, and how much respect they had for that man who's really no different than a jockey. The intent of the shooter and the watcher seem similar and the shooters form is pretty darn good. Old guy teachin' a youngster maybe.

I like how the shooter has his nervous bridge hand 'pinky' uP in the air.

Having grown up on a lake in Wis. the background looks familiar, but only from the standpoint of it being a lake shoreline, have no clue cept maybe midwest/northern states, at a yacht club game room (3 cushion table in background) or a golf course? The father? of the shooter doesn't look like he wants this young man to choose pool as his way in life. thx for the pic.

On the second Mickey Mantle photo, I love the grooming and the clothes! Can you imagine what three corresponding MLB figures would like in a photo taken today?

...Oh, and by the way, never, never play pool with anyone who can play baseball well.

It also just occured to me that, when I was a teenager, I met Leo Durocher when he stopped in a pool room/ bowling alley while on the road with the Dodgers and had a cup of coffee in our coffee shop. He was dressed just like these guys, even though he was not involved with anything official, just paying a visit and passing some time.

I was thinking somewhere in WI seeing as its a pretty flat shoreline. Lake Geneva shorelines generally rose up to high ground. Could be MN or MI.

I was kinda being a smart ass... It really is Brown's, in Burlington WI

Leo was a known gambler and carouser, lol. I remember when the Cubs used to come to Shea in the late 60,s and early 70,s, i used to love when he came out to beef about a call, he almost always got thrown out of the game.

"Dear Toncam" and Nine corner,"

I remember that, when I got home that night and told my father about Durocher's visit, he said, "My God, what is he like?" I said, "Actually, he's a nice man." Of course, no calls went against him that afternoon.

Here is a picture of a game Samuel Clemens invented which I can't believe never caught on. It's called "One Hole Pussy."
