as most people on here that i have dealt with,
know i am terribly colorblind
i mean it's bad folks, really bad :(
so with that in mind, what I am seeing,
most likely isnt what people with normal vision see

someone told me the other day that my color scheme of a cue was off,
that the handle just doesn't go with the rest of the cue
i'd like to hear some other viewpoints about it,
and if the majority of people agree ,
i may just go back and do a leather wrap over it

i have to get my wife or whoever else may be around at the time to help me sort out veneers,
and i always have to ask her if THIS wood goes with THAT wood
she picked out the handle for this one

pics arent the greatest
what I see is a purplish tint in the east indian handle,
but not as purple as the top butterflys of east indian
what do you non color blind folks see?
thank you in advance for your decorating skills

Good god, ya toothpick maker. What the hell is that? Gross!!!

Send it to me right away to avoid further embarrasment.

How well you play with it is all that matters. It's your cue and no one else's.

Just kept beating with that "ugly stick", which I don't think it is.

come on man, help me SEE the colors :D
the handle could be red, brown, green,
I DO NOT KNOW what the hell it really is

My opinion and it means little Brent.. I'd say the handle does not really match the cue..

My bad, better stop speed reading.....there is nothing wrong with that stick. Its unusual for sure, but I like that because I see so many generic style cues. The one person that matters is the person you built it for.

colors are way off,so i'll do u a favor and take some krylon spraypaint and match it up for u.lol.

seriously i've always admired ur cues...please don't change a thing.thats a gorgeous cue.
your butterflies and wood color contrasts are what have me saving my money right now for a bhq.
thanks for another beautiful pic.
(got me going through my couch cushions again:grin:)

LOL
i'll take the couch
i need a new one

It's a beautiful cue, but it does look to me like the handle doesn't match the inner part of the veneers all that well. The veneers are darker and redder, to my eyes, than the handle.

I do think most pool players probably wouldn't have a problem with that, though.

First I must say I am amazed with your work on all the cue's I have seen that you have posted. Beautiful! The handle wood color does look a little lighter IMOP. hope this helps

Just read this part of your post more carefully, and I agree that the handle isn't "purple enough" to match the butterflies.

Hey, Brent how've you been?

Since you ask, I also feel that the handle is a little mis-matched with the butterflies. I think either an ebony handle, or a maple one, would set off those butterflies much better. A black leather wrap would also look great. In general, I think that two highly figured woods tend to compete with each other too much and should be avoided, especially in sections that are adjacent.

Hi Brent,

I may be mistaken, but it almost looks as if the butterflys are a fairly dark purpleheart.
Maybe you asked your wife to color match the woods before turning and the purpleheart had gone brown on the outside?

Even if they are not, the handle-wood doesn't compliment it all that well.
It is far from ugly, some would probably love it like this.
