I sell tables for a living and I think that is a Legacy cue that we have in our play packages that someone has put a different wrap on. We sell that cue new for $75 ea. with a linen wrap.
 
Can you take a picture of the inside of the joint... want to see how much clearance there is.

What joint is that.... thanks.
 
Use the macro mode of your camera if it has one. It's used to take pictures extremely close up.

I think you are right and the supposed burl wood isn't wood either, but maybe the artificial synthetic material made to look like figured wood that I have seen on other imprted cues. Any cue with that much figure in it is either artificial or really nice. No middle ground in my book.
 
Yeah I didn't want to say that incase it wasn't true but I have seen some that you can see a definate line where it looks as if it is an on-lay of the whole wood.
