Well we did pick up some nice and AFFORDABLE pieces.
- Schon 1982 all original R-6, few dings but with black, blue, mahogany and natural veneers. From the distance you would swear it was a Boti. $ 750.00 / 1990 Paul Mottey $ 1500.00 / 2005 Ginacue 13a $ 5,750.00 / Scruggs titlist $ 1600 / Lambros, 2004 10 hrs play $ 1900 some others I will post...
Paul Rubino came down with some outstanding cues.
Appraisals and ID'ing: Thankless job, no doubt. 2 PM / PB palmers, both owners telling me they got them in the 60's, yeah ok, I guess no one likes bad news. One guy said he was offered 2k, (this cue was dinged heavy) and I told him to go hunt the guy down and sell it immediately. Saw a bunch of Adam cues, some misc Palmers, no treasures per se.
Dealing: Guy has bastardized Palmer from 75-77 era, convinced he bought it from Frank Paradise in 1964. (so we just figured Paradise also invented the flux capacitor
) We turned down alot of buys for various reasons, mostly because the sellers cannot distinguish between dealers / end users. Did pick up a few cues, Mark got a perfectly straight older cue (1920-30's) 2 piece wedge.
Only had to fight the Blue Book pricing once, lol.
Some great stories, got to shoot pool with Marcus, Spanky, Jim, Grader one night. Paul Rubino has some great stories and he is very, very knowledgable. ... more later
