Notice to Diamond of no longer delivering pool tables.

It Gets The Attention Needed

TATE said:
You probably do have a legit grievance, but posting it in public like this serves no purpose other than to embarrass Diamond. This is not a positive thing for any of you.

Why didn't you just refuse to deliver tables until they provided you with a reliable truck?

Chris

I am sure it is not his intention to embarass, but to GET THE ATTENTION of Diamond, who obviously takes his request not to importantly?

Glen has never been a diamond employee far as I know, he delivers their product(at the current time), thats his primary gig. Prehaps years ago he was a diamond employee, but not since I have known him. He is free to do what ever jobs he wants-he just did a GC-4 up in Wa and posted pics of it, if he was a Diamond employee he couldnt do things like that, Diamond and Glen work together its with in everyones interest, Glen promotes Diamond like I do because they make awesome tables, Greg Sullivan dosent pay players, me, glen to go out and tell the world how good the equipment is, that way there is no paid endorsement bullshit like there is with lots of commercial products in all industries. Greg believes that if his equipment cant sell it sell itself and by word of mouth he will make it better so that will happen, he puts in into tournments and that right there gets the job done. Back to Glen he just says whats on his mind-not what someone pays him to do.

I spoke to both guys tonight within 3 minutes of making a post i since took down, Glen call me tomarrow, i'm going to bed. it aint my business here but damnit both ya'll are my friends and I want to see things work out, nobody is pissed at each other and I believe there might be a resolution,

For everyone out there in AZ land it would help these guys not to post anything here or pick a side based whats on this thread. I read it all and its all speculation and some of it is accurate(more of it is incorrect), I'm not knocking anyone who posted, i dont have the authority to really ask people not to post on this thread but in the interest of Greg, Mark, Chad and Glen, this is a sensitive thing(thier business) and nothing said here going foward is gonna help anyone(it could be harmful to them), so out of respect lets let it die. It has a better chance of working out if it dies right now, and again I have no finincal interest I just want to see a good thing stay good for people I care about.

I appericate and thank anyone who reads this. Its for them not me. If you chose to post thats up to you, but think of the guys it could hurt.

Thanks for reading this

I do have to say, that if there's any major expences to repair this truck, Diamond does pay for that, like last week...when the water pump broke off....that's right, the water pump shaft BROKE OFF, and the fan went through the radiator, causing a few thousand in repairs, but...what's next with 339,862 miles on it, and that was at the gas station sitting idling, good think I wasn't out in the middle of NO WHERE!:D

Glen

I stand corrected that they payed for the peice of crap to be fixed but it is still a pain in your a-- to work out of. This they should be understanding of and oblige you by helping you get a better truck, or a VERY RELIABLE TRUCK.

My wifes parents company operates many over the road trucks that are not in the best of condition so I understand both sides of the story, it cost a whole lot of money to keep a fleet of trucks running 24-7, but you are not a fleet are you? I mean do they have 20 trucks running 24-7?

That would make more sense not to be able to put you in a more reliable truck if that was the case.

Obviously this guy feels he is being ignored by you all, for what ever reason, purposely or not.

Maybe your business in YOUR eyes seems more important, but YOUR tables OBVIOUSLY wont get set up by this guy anymore if you dont resolve the situation and open your eyes up and realize the importance of this situation.

This guy has deemed it so important to post this on a WORLD WIDE FORUM, and risk being heckled by all the usual rail birds who like to chime in and berate someone. It must be a pretty important thing that maybe you all have overlooked or have underestimated as NOT IMPORTANT enough to fix..

I understand that anyone that drives over the road has alot of extra expense because of fuel prices but to top it off it would suck to lease a truck that breaks down all the time and has to spend alot more money out of his pocket to get the job done that comes out of his own profit, which is small I am sure, compared to yours.

If you truly are in the wrong t would be best to correct it before all...
Glen chose to put this out in public. How Diamond decides to react to it is their business and they should not be expected to justify private business decisions in a public forum. We have heard one side of the story. It is no one else's business here but Glen's and Diamonds and maybe someone who is expecting a table like Billy.

Diamond is the best company in the business period. If you dont think so just try to imagine pool without them. I think it is a bush league move to air dirty laundry like this in public. I have met Glen several times and he is a hell of a mechanic and does a job many would never even consider but this is just silly. What good can come of it? You give 45 days notice on a public forum? You do yourself and Diamond a disservice in my opinion.

I get the feeling that Glen feels he is irreplaceable and maybe he is but if someone who worked for me pulled this stunt I dont care if I had to hire 10 guys to do the work I would find a way and send the unhappy camper on his way. But then we have seen Glen pull similar moves before and if I had to wager a small amount I would say that come June 2nd he will be doing the same thing he has been doing but probably in a newer truck.

No, no fleet of trucks, what ever truck I'm driving, I'd expect to make the lease payment on. I just checked on a 2003 E550 24ft box truck with 60,000 miles on it, with 40,000 miles remaining under the warrenty, for $18,000 payments on that would be about $300 a month, I pay $265.00 a month now;)

The question for you JCIN, is would you let it go for 6 months, before you decided to do something about it, or would you see it first, and do something BEFORE it becomes "Something"....6 months is a long time by anyone's standards, I think even by yours;) would you REALLY let it go that long?

Man I dont know what is going on. I just know that this isnt the place for it. You have a relationship with these guys going back years. This type of thing in public does no one any good.

Thats The Point

No argument with you, but that is the whole point from what I see.

People in general are afraid to take a stand with their employers and the employers KNOW it wont usually happen so they shrugg the person off like no big deal. I am not saying this is exactly what has happened but if it is I am all for taking a stand publickly, because in the private behind closed doors is where all the good hard working individuals get screwed by the higher ups in the modern day work place.

No one wants thier bad business dealings, honest mistakes or not aired publickly. I would have no problem taken a stand, and if this guy is as good as he says he is what does he have to lose, he already obviously is ready to quit them or actually has, he could get work on his own in whatever large city he wanted if he has a great reputation as the man to get the job done best.

First of all, this should not have taken place on a public forum.....PERIOD.

If you were unhappy with your arrangements/equipment with Diamond, work it out in private. If a resolution can not be reached, give a notice and move on.

I still don't inderstand why you don't just go out and buy your own nice clean reliable truck????? I mean after all, you must be making GOOD money setting up all these tables, right?? If not, you're doing something wrong.

Not bashing you, but there are right ways to do things and wrong way to do things.......

JCIN, you're right, this isn't the place for it, but it still don't change the fact that broke down on the side of the road somewhere...by myself, waiting for a tow truck, it's still me in that truck, when everyone else is at home. Waiting for this truck to break down, is just like the 7P's..."Piss Poor Planning, Produces Piss Poor Performance"! 6 months of these troubles with this truck....would it surprise anyone to get a call from me saying..."Hey, I'm broke down, send a tow truck"...no, I don't think so, and that's the problem, this is not a new problem, but it sure is overlooked, until I make that phone call! Would you blame me then for being upset? Well, "then" is now, back then was 6 months ago, and I'm still the one on the side of the road!!!

Glen

I would say that their is no better place I can think of that would get the attention needed, all the serious buyers and billiard enthusiast are here.

We all care about the industry as a whole and are in no way against diamond billiards, but if this guy deems it imortantant enough to risk all this, then MAYBE it is a situation that would only be dealt with correctly because of this. And if my employer didnt like it and wanted to fire me or let me go permanantly then so what he shouldnt have waited so long to address my ligitimate needs, I was looking for a job when i found this one, 6 months is a loooooooong time.

Enough said by this innocent bystander.

Dont be afraid to stand up for what is right, you cannot please all the people all the time but you can please some people some of the time, just make sure the one who gets the job done for you is well taken care of...

My point is, this is not a public matter. Glen made a personal decision and made it one. Now he and the other parties involved will work it out or they won't. Either way the world keeps turning ,and nobody is a bad guy, just a shame it happened like this.

Russ, let me try and put it to you this way. First of all, why would I want to own a box truck, it has only one purpose to me, and that is to deliver Diamond pool tables all over the country. If I decided to quit doing this, I'm stuck with a truck I no longer have a need for. Second, if I owned the truck, the cost of insurance would be so high, that I'd have to start charging double to the customer to be able to afford to pay for the insurance and deliver their pool table. Third, no...I don't make good money doing this, I make enough to cover the cost of doing it, and a little more, but see...that's what people don't understand about me, I do this because I like doing it. When it comes to making a profit, I'd make more money recovering ONE bar table a day, Monday through Friday. My fuel bill for last month alone was $1829.50...and I only drove 3,054 miles! I do this job, because people want Diamond tables, and Diamond is not in the positition to deliver tables to the western half of the United States like they are in the eastern half, that's their backyard. I don't live my life trying to make every dollar I can, I don't really care about the money, as much as I care about just getting the job done.

I couldn't agree with you more;)

Glen, I understand that you are in a tough spot and that you work your azzzz off for small change. Seems to me that you need to rethink your business plan. You won't see me out there driving all over the country busting my ass for small change. More power to you!!

Hope it works out for everyone.
