Well I bought a schon and am still looking because it seems the schons have a very small haldle/butt and is hard for me to get a good grip unless I grip at the butt cap which I cannot do. So I am going to try to sell it later but for now still looking for a good cue and not a schon. It doesnt have to be 20.oz but around 19.25 to 19.5 and needs to have a handle bigger than a schon which is pretty thin.

So if someone can lead me in the right direction with my specs please let me know. Also I am looking for a good solid quality name cue and not just any name brand. If I seem picky it is because I never buy high priced cues. Only since I have come back to pool I realize its a must in order to play to my ability but finding that cue might be tough.

So again forgive me if I seem picky. I have about 600 or so to spend on a cue. thanks

You should consider a joss. Much thicker butt. Only problem is that they hit kinda soft. Fine if you like that type of hit. I put a Tiger Ultra on mine and it really tightened up the hit. I could let it go for $550. The cue went for almost $800 new and the shaft is worth about $200. So, $400 for the cue and a buck and a half for the shaft. I can send pics if you wish. Original shafts come with it. Its got joss tour engraving in the steel joint, complete with JP's.

Take a look at the Jacoby website, they have been making some nice looking cues in your price range lately and they play good, at least mine does.

Cues

I have a few Rus Espiritu customs as well as JOss cues .
I will link my thread for the espiritus and the Joss cues are on my website. the link is in the bottom of the post.

I also have the following cue by Stephen Janes of Joss cues for sale.
I'd sell it for $600 without the High Pro shaft, with a standard Joss shaft.

Mark,

I will send you a Fury. Please go to www.fury-cues.com and pick one you like from the LL DL or NR series. I will have the cue sent to you in the weight you desire. If you don't like it then my only request is that you donate it to a player who needs a cue.

Please send me a PM if you would like to take me up on this offer.

John Barton (we haven't met but Jay Helfert can tell you who I am)

Perhaps a silly suggestion...but why not visit a cue dealer? One who sells various cues and has a table so you can shoot away until you find a cue that feels good to you? Now that you have an idea of what you don't like, why buy blindly? I may like one cue, you another...that's why there are various cue makers out there.

I totally agree. The problem is pool is not big out here so the places we do have around here on have cues valued at a few hundered at best. The know if they stock big name cues or pricey cues they may not sell it. thanks
