From 2005 to 2009 I was spending my time rehabbing from strokes and heart attacks. Being that I couldn’t play pool anymore I took up writing short stories and several novels. Five or six of my short stories were published on Amazon Shorts and several novels were published and sold on Amazon and other online book stores.

I tried for years to get interviews on radio and TV to push my books with very little response. Now John Austin from “the Book Club” on WTAN (think Imus) radio wants to interview me as an undiscovered author on his show. The book he wanted to do the interview on was about a pool playing private eye that lived on a boat, titled “The Nine Lives Kidnapper”.

It’s a shame this came when I don’t write anymore since I can play a little pool again. It’s a shame, most new author’s would kill for the interview. I’m turning it down. Johnnyt

Are they offering money? If yes then I'd think about the current uncertainty of the economy and jump at it.
 
Can't hurt to do the interview and tell your story. Never know who will be out there listening - even if they do buy some of your old books. Or maybe someone will read it and be interested in seeing more. Like Tbeaux said, it can't hurt to do the interview in this economy. Options are always nice.

Either way, congrats and glad to hear you are getting to play more pool

Johnny - send me the book and give them my phone #. I will be your 'ghost' interviewer.
 
Johnny, if you're not really interested in promoting the book and gaining sales, you could always use it as an opportunity to promote the game of pool. After all, it is the game of choice for your main character.
 
Mr.T.don't let you fans down. we'll post it and all listen. No, do whats right for you and your health. I'd rather play pool too.

Is there something your not telling us here? I think you should do it before they change their mind. It seems like a great opportunity for you.
 
You guys are right. Who knows I might not be able to play pool next week and start writing again. I told him I'd do the interview when I felt better. He said I have a standing invite for the show. Johnnyt
 
Johnny just do it. You will be kicking yourself in the arse forever if you do not. And congrats on being published. Way to go MR T!
