I know of many players that have put in the same amount of time playing as Shane does
To think Shane has no natural talent is ridicules he comes from a family with a long line of good pool players ,, yes of course all things being equal hard work would put one player ahead of another ,, but I will say it again the only place where everyone was created equal is in the bible

Sure, I could agree that those things could be considered natural talent.

But guess what, there's more to being a champion than pocketing balls or being creative.

I think a lot of people are mistaking hard work for practice. It's not. It's simply spending the majority of one's time at the pool table, and that's something that all top players do/did.

I don't care how "naturally talented" someone is, if they aren't spending most of their time playing pool, they'll never be a champion. That's a fact.

The whole point of the debate is can anybody be a champion player on hard work alone? The answer is no. That's why you see the same few guys up on top year after year. They all have something extra wired in that goes along with that practice. 99.9999999999 percent of people can't get there on practice/playing time alone.

I don't know how you can prove the part the bold.

Now I can disprove, or at the very least put a hole in it by saying that the 99.999999% of people that aren't champions are that way because they simply didn't spend as much time playing pool as the top players.

I wasn't gifted or talented at anything. The school system labeled me as such but actually I was only just faster at understanding the material. Want to know why? Because I liked to read and for every subject I would read and absorb the textbook in the first week.

So I suppose I was a talented reader.

I want you to explain to me why it is you think I can't learn to move like Efren under Efren's instruction and with me putting in 8 hours a day?

Am mentally incapable? Am I physically incapable of making a ball react the right way? I am just curious what makes you so certain that I am incapable of learning any more than I currently know.
 
This goes beyond just trying to get some action. This has some very sick and twisted aspects going on here. It is kind of sad really.

We are talking skill sets not championships ..
The fact is this is comparing pro's with pro's

The distance between the top Guy and 2nd may not in all cases that big of distance distance ,,As it is from the top guy to the lower tier ,,and 10x that when compared to a amateur player
If fact in many cases the lower tier has to work much harder just to stay where their at to make up for their lack of natural ability

Yes absolutely their is a talent gene ,, over 90% of the fastest world record runners can be narrowed down to a small part of Africa

I will take 10 Chinese golfers and you take 10 Russian body builders and teach them how to play pool ,, who do you think going to be better players
I know where my money is going

A game that doesn't require as much physical ability as something like running or playing basketball.
