I think one of the things I have enjoyed the most in my long friendship with Buddy Hall is he never felt compelled to put people down or brag on himself. A bunch of guys would be sitting around talking about how they beat this guy or that guy out of this much or that much and how they had to give them bus fare to get home and Buddy would just sit there and listen. When they were through Buddy would just look up and quietly ask: "So would you like to play me some now?"

And generally someone else would have to pick the conversation up from there because Buddy had ended the last one.

If you're Buddy then everyone knows your beat list is longer.

For the rest of us figuring out the pecking order is half the fun of it.
 
Which I do not mind. I just wish it could be done in a manner where other folks aren't also trying to figure out the pecker order.
