there the betting market is just satisfying the demand, the bookies want to maximize betting lines on all sports. sports betting is insanely big in europe.

the snooker authorities have it fairly easy compared to other sports. they can analyze every shot and situation closely, whereas analyzing suspicious behavior in a fast moving, action filled game such as ice hockey is very difficult. the betting companies probably catch near 100% of betting anamolies and notify the various sports authorities all the same, but the chance to proove something from there must surely vary a lot
 
If I remember correctly, the full video hasn’t been released publicly. What we have seen is the edited video to make John look as badly as possible.
 
I still stand by the fact that this was a sting operation by a British media that is known for "dirty pool". Same guys who bugged celebrities and paid off cell company employee to get passwords to voice mails of the Celebs and The Royals. They are ruthless. Pay for stories. You name it. Remember the meeting took place in the Ukraine. I would say almost anything to get out of there.
 
It is a weird story. I've always really liked Higgins. He's always seemed like a decent guy who's easy to root for. This didn't really match his character, but of course who knows.
