This guy has an incredible "photoblog" going, and most of it centers around the pool/social life at Amsterdam, also covering other areas of the NYC area.
If you surf this website for a couple of hours, you'll be packing your bags tomorrow.
...man, i got up with great intentions of going to work early, i started browsing through this guys website - WOW! he must put so much time and effort into that. maybe i'll see some people i recognize on there when i get the chance to go through it a little more..
i've only skimmed through one or two months of the blog archive - do all those ladies play at Amsterdam?? Jeeeeeeez!

Oh, and it wasnt Darren Appleton. I didn't click that the person meant THE Darren Appleton. lol.
the guy I shot with didnt hustle me. far from it. he was very up front and seemed that he figured he was a very average player. he admitted he rarely ever gambled, and when he did it was for 20/40 bucks per race to 9. he was happy to shoot around with us long before gambling was mentioned and i figured i had ample opportunity to analyze his game before we gambled, and it was i who offered to gamble i admit.
when we got into it in the first set, it's not like he suddenly became Ralf or Mika now that there was money at stake. he just shot very solid and very consistent.
like i mentioned before, losing the cash didnt so much trouble me. it was cash i had won earlier that weekend, and i did make most of it back the next day.
i just got curious to the skill level thing - as most B players where I shoot wouldnt have made some of the decisions he did at the times he did.
i did make some mistakes during the set, same way he made some mistakes, but in all honesty he took advantage of my mistakes and i couldnt fault the guy for that. i think that the fact he was a very solid shooter, made good decisions and was completely un-nerved by the fact i was an A player that took me by surprise.
