OB-1 finally responded to my email

Not to sound like a total ass but do you even know why shafts have a low deflection?

Go look at the predator website and watch that video.

There are two ideas to low deflection shafts. One is the weight ratio that is at the end of the shaft. The other idea is that the shaft flexs or moves out of the way of the cue ball when applying english.

The two ideas are to keep from driving the cue ball off line when applying extreme english to the cue ball.

So in that since if you like a stiff shaft, you probably are not going to be real happy with a low deflection shaft!

So why not get a cue maker to make you a shaft out of a piece of rebar (steel) so that you can have the stiffest possible hit? Maybe you would be happy with that?

The way I see it is this! If you don't like OB-1 then don't freaking use them! If you don't like Predator then don't freaking use them.

But for you to complain about how OB-1 hits, and that they need to make a shaft just for you? Why not just go have a custom cue maker make the shaft you are looking for?

OB-1 said it right in their email that they are growing at a tremendous rate right now and have no plans of changing their shaft at this time.

Yes maybe in the future they will come out with different versions, but right now they don't have to because they have already been the big dog that is compeating with Predator, and they haven't even had to come out with another shaft to do it!

There are 31 flavors for a reason! If you don't like the flavor of OB-1 go find you something else!

So how you liking that OB-1 that you got? I thought you got one several months back.........did you like it or have you had a chance to get used to it yet?

IF that is OB-1's thinking then they are selling themselves short.
Pred came with a Z shaft for those who like the stiffer taper/hit.

I liked it. There was nothing wrong with it at all. I bought a different cue (with a radial pin) so I no longer had a use for it. I wrote a review a while back - comparing my experience with the 314-2 and OB-1. The biggest difference I noticed was the sound or lack there of with the OB-1. My new cue came with two 314-2 shafts so I have no need to buy another OB-1. OB-1 has a great product but just like everything else. Some people will like it and some poeple won't.

Yes sir! I know what ya mean......and most of my friends that like Predator don't like the OB-1 cause of the different sound/feel. The ones that like OB-1 don't like Predator because of the different sound/fee.

Like I said that is why there are 31 flavors!

You are wrong about there being no stiff hitting low deflection shafts. it sounds to me like you may need to go do some more testing yourself so you understand it better. I doubt you have put in the time with as many different models as I have.

I also explained to them why I wanted one from them as opposed to their competitors, but again you wouldn't know that so you make am ignorant judgment.

Awww poor thing......OB-1 won't make the shaft the way him and his buddies want them to make it!

How bout starting up your own company and make the shafts that you think everyone else wants!

That's what is great about America......you can do that!

I don't care if you don't like what I said or not! I really don't! I know plenty of players that like OB-1, Predator, or even regular old maple shafts!

Like I said that is why there are 31 flavors!

I will say what I said before.........you want a shaft like that then start your own business! LOL

It's good to let OB-1 know what the public wants........however they have to look at it from a corporate perspective.

It might not be worth the time, effort, or money to make a different shaft!

It all comes down to the bottom dollar, and if it isn't cost effective for them, then why do it?

Like I said a little while ago, it is good to let OB-1 know what the public wants, but in the long run it comes down to if they can profit from it or not.

I am sure they have taken it into consideration, and they are probably looking into it, but you will just have to wait!

Or you can have a custom shaft made!

And since when did I call you any names? I stated an opinion and you got your panties in a bunch cause it didn't jive with your way of thinking!

I don't care if you like my way of thinking or not!

It's not cost effective to have one LESS pass on a shaft?

There is this business theory called " ease of entry to your market ".
Don't think for a minute it's that hard for one company to get in your market and really put a dent on your business. Then you react after that. Instead of before.
Don't be shocked, that a new shaft comes out next year that just might boggle everyone. How many do you think have it in the works right now?

I understand that I will have to wait, there is no need to point that out. I also no my other options as I have stated on page 1 of this thread.

look man your first post to me in this thread was rude. If you don't want rude back from me then learn to be respectful. You know you were being an ass, don't play dumb now.

i don't EVER start being rude to someone, but I will always stand up for myself when someone takes shots at me. be respectful to me and you will get the same in return. Simple as that

It has nothing to do with whether I agree or not. Hopefully someday you can figure that out.
He was being an asshole and he knows it.

Show me respect and you will get it in return. I did not get rude with him first, he even admitted that he knew he was being rude.
