Ob-1 shaft vs. Predator 314 & Z Shaft

and the z2 for the days you're really on.
if you aren't stroking very well the z2
will make you want to pull your hair out.
if you're hittin em good, the z2 is a lot of fun.
substitute the 314 for the ob-1 if you like.

I have played with all 3 and i would say the ob1 is far better . IMO
if you prefer playing a thinner shaft and a lot of feedback, then get a Z-2 shaft! OB-1 and 314-2 have almost the same construction logic and gives you the same solid hit, same taper. since I'm adapted to using 314-2 and already know how to work it, there isn't much difference to the OB-1. but I must also say that I like the OB-1 better than the 314-2 if I had it used first.

A lot of it depends on the tip but OB-1 has the best feel if you ask me. Soft but solid hit. 314-2 feels different depending on butt (different joint collars affect hit). One 314-2 with ivory joint (custom fitted) had a great feel and hit while Predator stock cues with 314-2 feel like plastic when I stroke through it. Z-2 is just stiff and skinny.

Gotta put in a vote for the OB1 shaft. I have been a 314 user for many years and tried the new 314-2 (thanks Joe!), but I have really been impressed with the play of the OB1. As stated earlier it seems to have a soft yet stiff hit if that makes any sense. I guess the best way for me to describe it is it plays like a predator but feels like a solid one piece shaft. Not a big fan of the Z or Z2.

the Z2 is a different kind of shaft - it has a different taper. so it doesn't really fit properly to compare it with the other two apart from the low deflection characteristic. go for the ob-1 or the 314-2 i say.

Nick Vita had a Josey SP with an OB-1 on it and I played with it for about 20 mins.... It was kinda whippy....... and hard to control...
That being said... Nick made it look easy to use.. lol
If I play alot, than I Like a Predator Z shaft... but they are tought to use if you only play a few times a month
