OB Classic Pro vs. OB-2 Shaft?

Recently I have been looking at upgrading to an OB shaft with a diameter of 11.75mm.

From my research I found that OB offers two cues with the shaft diameter of 11.75, the OB Classic Pro and the OB-2. The only difference I can see between the shafts is the ferrule. The OB Classic Pro has the traditional white ferrule versus the OB-2's 1/2" laminated maple ferrule.

Are there any other differences I am missing?

Has anyone played with both shafts and can give feedback on whether or not there is a huge difference in hit or feel?

I appreciate the information.

Thanks,
Ben

Ben,

There is one more difference, and when combined with the ferrule change it makes for a different hit, which is what we were after with the Classic line.

The OB line of shafts incorporate a noise dampening core to give it that soft but solid hit. the Classic line does not have that core, so it is solid through the middle of the shaft.

Both lines still have our tip end designed to reduce the cue ball deflection, so that is the same.

The Classic's hit harder and stiffer as compared to the OB's softer quieter hit.

I hope that helps!

Hey Royce, is it bad "mojo" to put an ob classic shaft on my UN-30 universal smart cue? Is that bad taste?

OB Classic

Royce, isn't the classic a pro taper and the OB-2 a shorter taper shaft? They sure feel different which is the reason I chose the Classic and I love it!

They are different, but Royce is just pointing out the difference between the Classic line and OB line. The taper on the OB Classic Pro and OB2 are the same as the ob1 is the same with OB Classic.
