OB Classic Pro vs Tiger X Ultra LD vs Z2?????

I like the smaller shafts and have rotated play with all three of these shafts and after doing that for a few months I finally settled on the Tiger X Pro. This shaft gives me more of what I feel I needed. The best way for me to describe it is that it is stiff but not so much that I lose my touch with the cue ball. I've now been playing with the X Pro for about three years.

Tiger Pro-X has a real solid hit but I just couldn't get used to the shaft taper with my closed bridge.

Where Does The Meucci Black dot fit in?

I have the 29" Z-2 11.75mm and The OB-1 12.75mm, and the OB Classic Pro 11.75mm, My two favorites are the Z-2 and the 30" OB Classic Pro 11.75mm.
I'm thinking of buying a Z-2 with a 11.3mm, because I like the feel of the OB so much. I may also try Tiger Pro X.
But right now I am really enjoying my Meucci Black dot 12mm, it was only $154 and it hits right up there with the rest of them.
Is there a line you cross, where all these issue's become moot, and it's all just a matter of prefferance?

“Moot” is a very old word related to “meeting,” specifically a meeting where serious matters are discussed. Oddly enough, a moot point can be a point worth discussing at a meeting, an unresolved question, or it can be the opposite: a point already settled and not worth discussing further. Which is this?

yes I just wanna to see the difference between those 3, my 314-2 is custom one, the shaft dia now is 11.75, idk if the ferrule is shorter since its second-handed, and yes I wanted a shaft as low deflection as 314-2 or better, read a lot of feedback on Z-2,have tried it myself but i don't really like the feel of it:frown:. Some said Tiger is much more deflection than those 2, is that true??? Can OB Classic Pro better than Z-2 in any points???

I have tried all of these. I played with a 314-2 for a long time, like since it came out. I liked the 314-2 fine, quite a lot actually. However, I had always found Predators "dull" feeling. So I tried everything out there. For me, the closest in deflection was the OB Classic. What was nice is that this also had a great feel, much closer to a traditional shaft. I will say that of all those aftermarket shafts, the best *feel* was Mike Lambros followed by Mezz WD700. However, these shafts were a *significant* change in squirt, and were somewhat unusable to me.

I spent time at the Tiger booth a few times. I tried whatever shaft was their lowest deflection, The X Pro I believe. It felt pretty good actually, but the squirt was much more than Predator. They honestly tried to tell me that it was lower. We set up some test shots that were supposed to prove their point, but obviously the shots didn't go as they would have liked and proved them wrong. It really rubbed me the wrong way that they were making false claims about the product. You would never hear OB saying their shafts have less deflection than XYZ shaft...

I would strongly consider OB for the following reasons: very low squirt, nice feel, good quality, great people (Royce is a good guy), made in USA, honest claims about the product, great customer service.

I just purchased the tiger 12.75 and I have nothing but great things to say about it. Great shaft. Stiff hit but none of that lifeless feel you get from a lot of LD shafts.

The Tiger Pro X is the one that matches these other shafts. The OB Classic Pro and Z2 are 11.75 mm tips, the Tiger Ultra LD is 12.75 mm.

In my opinion, the Tiger Pro X is the best choice of these 3 for looks, feel and squirt. The Classic Pro would be my next choice - I like the way it plays but the appearance takes some getting used to, and the Z, which has a hollow end, would be my last choice.

Are you looking for a shaft with the small tip?

This is me.

Hi Can anyone give me feedback on those 3???Wanted to a buy a new shaft:cool:

I'm definitely very happy with the 314 and the z2.
Use both.
The z2 is more whippy but a helluva shaft. You gotta give it some time to get used to is. It's like a formula 1 race car....lol. Just take it easy at first.
With a hard tip there's very little deflection to speak of.
Gotta use a very steady, straight, stroke when you shoot with it.
It's unforgiving. But awesome once you get used to it.

Tried all 3 like the ob the best and with ob coming out with there new line u cant go wrong with new shaft from what I hear good luck hope u get what ur looking for

I have also tried all three, and personally the OB pro + came out on top by a large margin.

The Z2 has no deflection, and actually found myself having to adjust the oppisite way for swerve which completely put off my game. On top of that, it really gives no feedback.

The larger tip of the tiger put me off most. Has good feel, and more deflection, but ofcause with any cue, it just take a bit of time to get used to the deflection. Time which I don't have!

The OB pro was like it was made for me. I literally did not have to adjust at all when using spin. (Ofcause this will change depending on your stroke/strength) On top of that, it has a really nice tone/feedback.

One thing I would like to add is that I was able to get a lot more spin, and whiteball movement with the OB on lower speeds (which suits my game), where as the tiger was far superior in terms of accuracy and spin when I was pissed off and smashing the ball (Possibly tip size/ extra stiffness of shaft)

As the others said the BD ss360 is amazing shaft as well but out of the 3 I'd go with OB now out of the ss360 and OB that's hard one for me

SS360 is the way to go , an amazing shaft with LD qualitys as the Z2 but with a lot of feedback . You can order the shaft from 10mm upto 13mm and the price is 160 dollar so it's cheaper than the predator shafts , cheaper and 100 timers better !!! What more do you want ?

I would have to respectfully disagree. I own. SS360 also. Its plays fine, but I didn't notice any special or amazing feel qualities as I've heard others describe on here. i think people may get new shaft fever sometimes and it gets in their head. Its happened to me also, but it only lasts for a couple weeks and then reality sets back in. The SS360 shaft does have some low deflection properties, but it is not very low deflection. I had been shooting with a mezz wd700 at 12mm for a few years. When I started using the SS360 shaft I could hardly make any shots that needed any real outside/ inside English because the deflection was so much. I couldn't adjust to it, so I had it tapered down to 12mm also to lighten the front end hoping to make it deflect less. It helped to a very small extent, but still way too much deflection than I'm use to. I quit using it.
If your coming from a high deflection standard maple shaft, then the SS360 is a good choice, but if your using a good LD shaft now, it's hard to adjust to the SS360. I know the mezz wd700 at 12mm, the mezz wx900, and the jacoby edge hybrid shaft are all alot lower deflection than the SS360 shaft. Its not even comparable. I haven't tried ob shafts or predator, but I'm sure the Z shaft and ob pro are definitely lower as well. Also I do believe to SS360 shaft played and felt better at the 12.75mm as it originally came, than it did after I had it tapered down to 12mm. So I would recommend keeping it at standard size.
