OB Cue Taper Roll?

Just got a new OB sneaky the other day and I've noticed there is a slight roll to it. Do all OB's have a slight taper roll? It's my first OB, so I am not familiar with them. I don't notice it when I'm shooting, only when I roll it on the table.

Thanks

In my experience, most cues have at least a small taper roll if you look close enough.

Take the cue, set the joint on the rail so it's rolling on the joint and the butt cap and see what the tip does. If it tracks nice and straight and you're just seeing a touch of light variation under the shaft then I wouldn't worry about it. If the tip is moving a noticeable amount then I'd be more concerned.

I've owned four OB shafts and all were straight as an arrow. When I listed my OBClassic in the For Sale section, I put together a short video of it rolling on a table: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiuYyh-DaKM

Most "taper roll" is so insignificant that you'll never notice it while shooting, nor will it ever effect the outcome of shot.

I once shot with a friend's cue that was straight as an arrow, but it had a discoloration in the shaft wood that caused an optical illusion of being warped when you stroked back and forth. It was nearly impossible to shoot with because my brain kept telling me the shaft wasn't moving in a straight line.

Well, what's weird is that when I roll the shaft and butt separately, they are perfectly straight. But when I put them together and roll it, there's a roll to it. Maybe it's the joint??

Most likely the joint faces unless the threads are off or the joint screw is off .
Could be just a little swelling on the face or the threads due to humidity or exposure to moisture.
