hello all, i am interested in this shaft. i love the design of it but the wooden ferrule is waht makes me nervous, has anyone ever used one. i want one with a morri soft. what you compare it to? thanks

Why are you worried about the ferrule?

The ferrule is very strong and I have even used the shaft to break on a few occassions. The ferrule is not distracting when you are aiming at the object ball and stroking.

It could be compared to a 314 shaft, but I think it has a better hit.
Hopefully that may answer some of your questions.

I love it. I wouldn't play with anything else. I've had the priveledge of playing with one for about 1 1/2 yrs. The only problem I had was adjusting to the superior spin. You have to move back to the center of the cue ball which = even less deflection. By the way I play with a moori med.

just got mine monday and im liking it a little more every day. Definitely puts more spin on the ball with less effort.

I've only heard good things for the OB1, and am thinking of buying one myself.

They must be good, as there aren't any 2nd hand ones for sale, unlike 314's.

last night was my third night with the ob-1 and im really starting to notice how much spin i can get on the ball. I shot a shot......cueball is at the side pocket about a diamond over, object ball is about a foot from the corner on the same side, so its almost straight in but a little angle.......the next ball is on the same side of the table about at the 2nd diamond from the top corner. I would normally shoot low left and go 2 rails to get on the shot.......last night i put inside top and the cue came off the footrail, side rail and back up to the side pocket almost, very impressive.

I had a customer today trade in a new laminated shaft. Now the only shaft in his case was the OB-1. He's a top player.
