OB cues shut down?

Some would say a beer or two would make you a ball better. A lot cheaper to try something like that before the latest ld shaft.
Whether it really works for me or not, couldn't say for sure, but I tell my wife that, then she doesn't complain about me having a few drinks.

I would liker to know how I can recognize when I become "a ball better" at pool?? If my high 14.1 run is 28 does that mean I will be at a high run of 29? Or maybe when I am a ball better I can run a rack of 10 ball instead of 9 ball??
I think the term generally refers to 8 9 or 10 ball players and how many balls they consistently pocket without a failure.
If you consistently run 5 or 6, "a ball better" would mean running 6 or 7.

All opinion. I'll give another opinion that others may or may not agree with... I find it easier (for some reason) to draw the cue ball with a low deflection shaft then a solid maple. I have no idea why. And that's with shaft diameters that are very close.

I had two newer players play with my shafts and theirs just last week, with the Revo they both had a much easier time moving the cueball around, these are C level players. They tried a few other shafts I had, again both felt they could get more action on the cueball with those shafts than theirs. I saw the one that was the worst of the two improve his draw at least a foot using the Revo vs his cue.

I don't know how others play to not see a difference, but myself and every player that tried out the shafts I have, found that the higher tech shafts could move the cueball easier. Years ago myself and another person who is a better player than me tested out like 8 different shaft and tip combinations using low right spin. The most spin we got was from an LD shaft with a layered tip. We shot 5 shots each with each shaft and saw how far down the table we could spin and make the ball. The results were from about 1.5 diamonds up from the corner pocket to pretty much to the corner pocket with the most actiony shaft/tip combo. It was a pretty scientific test, we both saw the same exact results with the same shafts, meaning we both got the least action to the most action with the exact same shafts. They make a difference. We are not comparing how good a great player can play with a shaft vs a weak player can play with a better shaft, but what the same player can do with the different shafts. It does not matter one bit if Earl can play better with a $100 Cuetec than most of us can with a $5,000 SouthWest, what matters how the same player does with the two.

I believe your observations apply to many sports and equipment lines. There are the old adages that the best equipment won’t make a bad player better, and that the best players can play well on poor equipment, but there is a whole continuum in the middle where competent players can take advantage of good equipment as well. I know Rafael Nadal can beat me with a thrift shop tennis racquet, but I’ll continue playing with a $250 foam filled, gut strung carbon fiber racquet because I am good enough to take advantage of it’s features.

The Chinese should buy Meucci and keep most of the designs and make quality cues in China.
I like a lot of Meucci designs but wont buy one because of their horrible hit and miss quality.
As far as OB goes I never had any interest in their products.
You wouldn't buy one anyway, they cost money

China needs to stay in china ...... someone in America needs to buy Meucci and make the company better. it is a global brand. people all over know Meucci.... it could be a great company again
I don't know if it is public knowledge but Meucci was bought last year by an investment firm.

Dale came in to help with CNC stuff. Don't think that has anything to do here. I thought that after Mark Griffin bought in they'd move forward. I think they found out that making cues here in the US ain't cheap to do. It always boils down to the $$.
True, but lots of great companies here in the U.S. seem to be doing well. Poor management is almost always the answer.

An investment firm makes more sense than the shop mgr buying it as stated before. The guy that said that got it from the phone lady. Not always the last word in a businesses future.

people like saying things like that .... just because i think Southwest is stupid retarded expensive they think i cant afford one ... lmao ... 8k for a pool cue ... no thanks ...lmao
If I ordered one today I will probably be unable to play, more likely dead, before it arrived.

i understnd that .... but still i would just find somebody else ... SW is notthe only name in town ... Also alot of these flippers with no intention of playing with the cue should just stay out of the market. let a guy that wants a custom cue .... have a custom cue made. alot of these long waitin periods are basically these so call dealers.... really unfair to a guy that wants to have a cue custom built. this i another reason why i dont buy from some of these guys. "i am the dealer for so and so ... please buy this cue and avoid the long wait " no thank you (i hope you cant sell it because your custom cue is not my custom cue) .. i will just buy a meucci until i can have one made
