I'm torn between something from the new OB line or a theewen (rat) Custom

They're right about the same price range and I have played with an OB before I do like the way they feel but I have heard many good things about rat as well.

Curious as to what some others might think.

Got RAT. Besides...when you start collecting the cash, you can tell them a RAT beat you! ;)

I like Ryan's cues, very well made and well priced. My buddy in Toronto
has one and the fit and finish were superb, as well as the hit.

That's what I'm leaning towards is the Rat, the only thing that's really leaving it up to debate is the fact I have never tried one and don't know anyone who would let me try the hit for a little bit.

Like anyone else I'm a little shy about pulling the trigger on a cue without at least tapping the cue ball first. Still working on a sale here to squirrel away the funds so I'm sure I'll have my mind made up by then.

So Ryan don't be surprised if I'm pestering you in the next few weeks lol

Of course, I'd love to sell you a cue,

But.....

You can't go wrong with a RAT cue.

Ryan is a great guy who builds a great cue.

Good Luck!

my main player is a RAT cue
and you can tell by my iTraders that i've owned/sold quite a few different cues.
btw, im impatiently waiting on an OB classic pro to get here
i guess i'll be having the best of both

I love my ob I've won two tournaments two weeks in a row with it! My game has done nothing but go up since I got it! My vote goes ob never shot with a rat but I'm sure there both great picks good luck!

I never shot with a Rat, but I love my OB128 + classic shaft, can't go wrong with OB. Good luck buddy! :)

My friend has been shooting with an OB cue for a while and I own an OB2 shaft that I've played with extensively. They both shoot very well.

BUT,

I have been shooting with a RAT for 4 months now and I LOVE it. I would highly suggest them. I ordered one with a McDermott i3 shaft and I don't think I'll be going back to my OB2 shaft. I wrote a review for my cue with pics a little while ago, here is the link:

The only thing I need now are the custom joint protectors Ryan promised.

I finally took the dive, I broke down and purchased an OB130 with the OB2 shaft. (I found that seyberts.com has it the cheapest of the places I looked)
it is supposed to be shipped on 5/13 will do what I can to get my personal review of it up shortly after.

However, I talked a friend of mine into buying a Rat5 from Muellers.
so in the near future I'll have both side by side to at least get my own feel for them.

I hope you didnt order the regular ob shaft. you were talking about "hit" or feel and ob shafts dont have one, the classic pro is the way to go. by the way, I play with a rat, best cue for the money

Maybe this means nothing but I tried a couple of months ago to pm (2x) and email (2x) this guy who makes the RAT cues and haven't gotten a single reply as of yet.

I'd definitely go with OB.
They make excellent cues.
Besides I do think it says a lot to be able to contact your cue maker and talk to someone when needed.

I have played with plenty of OB's and the shafts they offer, honestly not for me. Great well made Production cues, but not for me.

Never played with a RAT cue, but looked at many of them and heard only great things about them. Here is one thing that I love to hear as well (CUSTOM) that right there steps in front of OB 10 fold for many reasons. That may not mean as much to you as it dose to me when it comes to cues but thats just me, either way I'm sure you will make the decision that best suits you.

Good luck

Do your research. I do not have a Rat but would not hesitate to buy one. If you should buy an OB get it from Seyberts. The have a great return/exchange or refund policy if you are not satisfied with it.

Very cool of you to state that. It shows your character. I do not have an OB cue but would buy one. OB's rep is quite positive.
I do have an OB Classic 29"
OB Classic 30
OB Pro Classic 29"
