I received two OB1 shafts today and they are awesome! The one thing im not sure i understand is that i had NO PROBLEM at all with aiming. I anticipated some amount of adjustment period based on what i've heard and read about here, and it just wasnt there. Has anyone else not really had a problem converting to LD shafts such as the OB1?

this is my first LD shaft. im extremely happy i went with OB.

The aim adjustment is only with english. If you had no adjustment period, it means your current cue has similar squirt as the OB. There are many conventional shafts that are fairly low squirt. If you play on tight pockets, it tends to make the difference more noticeable.

I do play on tight pockets and was intentionally throwing all kinds of left and right on the cue but really had no trouble at all.

Well there's a saying: Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.:p

I can't wait for my Schon jointed OB2 from Seyberts to get to my house. I had an OB1 that I played around with. It was more of a radical departure in feel than I was willing to deal with at the time. When I read about the OB2 I had to give it a try.

im not upset by this at all!!! im just wondering if there are people out there (like i was) who are skeptical to try an LD shaft because they are worried about relearning or changing their game. really, there was almost no adjustment at all for me.

For me and my ob-2 the learning curve was
first received it and shot with it played normal-better than normal
a week in my shot was in the toilet
2 weeks later was up to normal and got used to the LD stuff which increased my confidence in alot of shots!

Hope your OB1 will play as smoothly or better than when you first shot with it!

i certainly hope this isnt the case for me, as i intend to use it in a tap titleholders event this weekend.

I have the OB-1 and got use to it in a day or two (4 or 5 hours a day), but I shoot 95% on a Valley 7' with 4 1/2" corner pockets. I'm sure it takes longer to adjust to a LD-shaft on a 9'. Johnnyt

I just got my OB1 shaft a week or two ago, and from the moment I got it, I was shooting great. So I'm with you ... I was fortunate enough to not have an aiming period. I haven't shot this well in ... well, forever :grin-square:
