OB2 - Pictures

Wow, amazing.

Royce really came through for you. I just hope you know swapping out this shaft for a custom order Classic shaft is totally above and beyond the call of duty. I think you're going to be very happy with the Classic.

Chris

Yes, this is definitely above what companies typically offer, and I did not need to go through RBC to get this kind of service

Yeah, way upstairs on the customer service. I'll definitely be swithing from 314 to ob1 one day thanks to reports like this. I just adore it when customers are treated well. Kudos to OB1.

To be fair, predator has some pretty good customer service too. When I told them about my oversized 314-2 shaft they sent me (they sent me a mislabeled 314 FAT shaft), they offered to send a replacement to the nearest predator dealer just 10 mins away from me, and it won't cost me anything. I also asked for a 30", and was not charged anything extra.

You are mistaken there, he reads every thread concerning his products on this forum. So whether you understand it or not you did bring this to his attention even though you never contacted him directly.

I don't know if you understand what I am saying or not but I hope your happy and I am glad you were taken care of. However, that would have been done without this thread and the drama it created.

RBC runs his company very well and takes care of his customers equally well, as he has proven before he will go above and beyond to take care of any problems that arise. My question is does he deserve to lose out on this deal like he is willing to do, in my mind that is something to think about along with being satisfied with his customer service.;)

Truth is, I really wasn't knocking predator; i've never had a problem. Sorry if it came off in a negative fashion. I just happen to think, from waht i've seen, that OB1 service is exceptional.

Oh no, I didn't mean it that way at all. I just wanted to share that I had positive experiences with both companies.

I suspect that since you are now happy with the service, it may a respectful thing to do to contact them and offer to pay the difference between what had and what you are getting in return. I doubt that they will take your money, but at least it will give you clear conscience.

That is what I would do in any given situation where some one treats me the way you have been treated. You may think who the hell is this guy to tell me anything, and that is your right. But if you look through the history of my posts ( More than 10,000 ) on this forum I have never ever taken unfair advantage of anyone so I stand by my statement.

Do you mean pay for the new shaft? All of their shafts are the same price, and boring a radial hole should be less costly than the brass uniloc insert.

I covered shipping both ways, and am offering to supply the tip.

EDIT: If you mean the extra inch, I have already offered to cover the cost but of course OB did not take it. I'm surprised that you would bring up something so trivial; you must think I really am petty.

For everyone who doesn't understand why some of us have made comments throughout this thread I will explain why I made mine. For myself out of common courtesy whenever I buy something I will always contact the manufacturer or the distributer I purchased the items from if there is a problem. They are the most knowledgeable people on the planet concerning their product, and if they care about their business especially in todays market place they will also insure that their customer service is top notch.

I own a business, sell cues, cases and accessories along with building custom cues. If a customer has a problem I will do anything possible to take care of it, EVEN if I lose money in the process, customer service is that important to me.

My opinion about threads like this is based upon what I have seen and dealt with on a personal level. No matter how good some ones intentions are when they start these threads and name a company directly in the thread they always turn out bad, and some times with that said it is still necessary to do.

Please keep in mind that the usefulness of threads like these are for those who have not been treated correctly in the first place. These threads are great for companies with poor or non-existing customer services practices, and last but not least these threads are great for exposing thieves. However, if a company is known to treat their customers very well, and there is no problem with contacting them a thread like this serves no purpose at all except to take up space in a forum section and give people who have nothing better to do something to comment about during their long boring day.

The Key here is that the out come would have been the same as it turned out to be without anyone except the OP and the manufacturer being involved. There would have been no drama and no disrespect shown to anyone throughout the process, so with that said what more can anyone ask for?

I hope my comments have not offended anyone throughout this thread if they have I apologize.

I don not mean pay for the new shaft, and if you read my comments in my other posts you will understand that. However, my comments were directed at the fact that you are trading a standard shaft for new customized shaft made for you to your specifications.

As far thinking your petty, it would have been nice if you commented in your posts above that you offered to pay the difference and they would not except it, which would show even more that their customer service go's above and beyond what is normal in these situations.

That way they will get the respect they deserve for doing it, and you would appear to have a great deal of integrity, it is kinda a win / win situation isn't it!!!!!

Have a wonderful day Sir.

Which part of:
What's amazing is that I asked for a 30" version (usually $10 extra), turned down to 12.5mm, and they were willing to build a new shaft for me with these specs at no extra charge (2-week turnaround).

Did you have trouble understanding? Now I think you're just being picky, would it make you happy if I posted the unabridged logs of our conversations and email correspondence?

I think this is where you are going wrong. This thread paints OB1 in an extremely positive light, so i'm just not sure what the problem is. But I guess we have hashed this out already, but i'm just continually surprised you say stuff like this when it is obviously a positive thread for OB1.

I think I may have mistaken you for some one looking for attention ( Drama Queen ) if that is incorrect I apologize.!!!;)

Take Care

No I am not wrong at all, the point being this thread was not necessary in the first place in any way - shape - or form. This entire situation would have ended the same way if OB was contacted first, so please explain why any of this was necessary if not for the sake of drama!!!!

Oh and by the way, it most likely also would have taken so long to get the problem corrected either. So with that in mind what purpose does this serve?

Don't say because it tells everyone that OB is great company, that has been know by forum members since they started selling their products. If some one is new all they have to is use the search feature to check out their past record, so again I ask what purpose does this thread serve?

Next time someone has a gap in their shaft like mine they will know that it will be warrantied and can send it in without worry or doubt.

Most already knew that or they would have checked the Search Engine on the forum to see how things were handled in the Past. You never answered my question from a previous post, you made the comment that RBC did not have to get involved do you still really believe that?

Have a nice day

When I first seen the pics I knew they weren't scratches and was a defect like other shafts from other companys.I think showing pictures was fine cause if you didn't and tryed to explain the issue, people would of told you to post some pictures.I think the shaft was bad,you were right and OB is great company. All in all you were asking for help and suggestions and in return got slack and BS.Goodluck with everything:smile:

I had no idea what an OB shaft was until this thread surfaced. Good thread. I stated that before. Can we end the pissing contest.....the war is over.

If you can't step back and objectively take a look at this thread and realize that you are the one creating the drama.... well, if you can't do and see that, i'm not sure what to say to you. Or, we could all take a vote on who is creating drama here. Would that satisfy you?

Anyway, forgive me all, as somebody noted, this thread has served its purpose.

Gentleman, I do agree this thread has served it's purpose and I apologize for offering my opinion.

Thanks for putting up with me and for acting in a professional manner throughout.

Have a nice night!!
