Whats your occupation? Pool players represent a large cross section of America. All walks of life from prominatant sports figures, to dentists, to construction workers... the list goes on and on. In our league we have a Lawyer, a Dentist, a Grave digger, a Chimney sweep, a engineer, and an Elevator mechanic to name a few. The last one represents myself.

I troubleshoot problems when the elevators don't work right. I provide maintainance on a scheduled basis. Perform safety tests to ensure they run as per code. Perform repairs when the elevators are really "Broke but good."
I am also "On Call' one day a week and one weekend a month.

I'm curious to see what everyone else does to pay the bills.

On my resume and job title it says "Software Engineer", but I prefer to think of myself as a "Computer Programmer" because it is less pretentious and is what I do. I do analysis, write code, and spend way too much time in meetings. I am also on-call periodically.
I work for a large finanicial company. The group I work for in a nutshell takes market data in and distributes it to other groups within the company. Definitely boring middle tier stuff, but it pays the bills last I checked.

Job

Geez, I'm around more dough than any of you.....I'm a pizza delivery boy "Man lady, you call that sh*t a tip?"-Ryan

Logistics, United States Air Force (Active Duty)

I specifically focus in Supply Chain Management right now, but I've done everything from running the Hazardous Materials Pharmacy to handling all of the communications equipment (purchasing, issueing, storage, tracking, etc) on the Presidential Inauguration Committee (in 2000). Needless to say, it doesn't get boring.

The official description - it's more fun than it sounds

I'm a Series 8 Registered Investment Broker with a national brokerage firm. We work with our clients and their goals to provide investment planning services and investments for accumulation, retirement and estate planning.

Most days I really enjoy going to work - but after 26 years I look forward to getting away from the office for golf, fishing and a good pool tourney. Two daughters in college keeps me hustling!:D

And my occupation is....

College professor....retired. I could say, "College Professor Emeritus," but that sounds pretty pretentious, don't you think?

When I want to sound all fancy on a resume, I'm a "Software Engineer". To most, I'm a programmer, professional geek, or computer jockey. It's better than digging a ditch for me, I'm too scrawny for manual labor.

Product Development Engineer for a large Seattle-area Aerospace Firm... with which I have been gainfully employed for the past 25 years.

Student -- University of Florida

Talk to you from my part time job, at the office of Contracts and Grants.

I'm an Industrial Engineer and work in Quality Assurance.

My second "jobs" include raising/training Rottweilers, Web Site design, and running my Rottweiler Forum.
Where is your Rottweiler forum located at? I'd be interested in taking a look.
