Hehe- that won't take long- there's one eight-ball league stacked with British and Irish snooker players- my goal is to get proficient to the point where I can sponsor a team (hey- if I'm sponsoring, they have to let me play, right?:D ) without embarrassing myself.

Whats your occupation? Pool players represent a large cross section of America. All walks of life from prominatant sports figures, to dentists, to construction workers... the list goes on and on. In our league we have a Lawyer, a Dentist, a Grave digger, a Chimney sweep, a engineer, and an Elevator mechanic to name a few. The last one represents myself.

I troubleshoot problems when the elevators don't work right. I provide maintainance on a scheduled basis. Perform safety tests to ensure they run as per code. Perform repairs when the elevators are really "Broke but good."
I am also "On Call' one day a week and one weekend a month.

I'm curious to see what everyone else does to pay the bills.

I am a retired US. Army Soldier, who spent 23 year's on Active Duty. While on Active Duty, I delt with WMD and Transport of Hazard Materials, along with Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Recon. Upon retirement, I opened a Pool Room in Lakewood, Washington, (No more Hazardous Materials for me:D;) ) I have 9 tables, approximately 100 to 200 production cues for sale, I also try to keep a number between 10 and 30 Custom cues for sale, I have a decent selection of cue cases with all sizes available, and a very large selection of Billiard Accessories.

Along with my retail section, I have been doing cues repairs for approximately 6 years. I also began building conversion cues, in may of 2006, to date I can not build them as fast as they are sold. I have also begun experimenting with spliced forearms with veneering, however, they have not met my expectations as yet.

My pool room is most likely the only full service pool room in the state, so between building conversion cues, general tinkering, and repair work, I stay very busy, but that is what I like.;)

Yup- not too far away at all- that's quite a bit more of the "real" Thailand than where I'm at.:)

I may have already posted here and don't remember, but what the hell, I'm bored.

My father owned a wholesale meat business and I've been working for free or otherwise since before I can remember. Some day I'll get to rest.

For the last 30 years I've been a computer programmer/software engineer, pick the title you like. I was in the field before there was such a thing as a degree in computer science. I took an IBM aptitude test, went to a school at Aetna for a week and a half, and I was a programmer, just like that.
Programming has been good to me, but I'm damn good and ready to retire... now if that stockmarket will only cooperate and I don't lose my job before I'm ready to somebody across the ocean working for peanuts I just might make it.

You have!!!;)

I edited in all the new occupations... Jay what the h-ll do I put for you?

When the pool hustler thing didn't work out as expected, I became a parks and recreation maintenance worker. Still got a good roll though. I work at a beach park and campground in Southern California. Tough, but someones got to do it!

I was just in Koh Samui a few weeks ago. It was tough coming back home. Course not having any cash makes that substantially easier.

That would have been testing the limits of my manliness, even when making up hogwash like this.

Well, I didn't see Architect on the first post list, but I see there is at least a retired architect. I, however, am not quite licensed as an architect, but am working with architects and will be licensed soon!
