I couldn't get the grab and shake thing either. If I am competing, I don't want anyone's hands near me. Period. If it were me, this could easily have warranted the punch in the nose Joel mentioned in a previous post.

It's impossible to say what his intent was, but I know what I saw and that was enough to throw a person's game off. You could say that Ronnie Allen and Fats didn't shark, it was just their personality, but the effect on the opponent was sharking and IMO it was no accident.
Can you imagine if it was golf and on the tee he went up to Tiger Woods and did that to him? They would pull his tour card and you would never see him again in a tournament.
Bottom line, if this goes on in the finals of a major tournament then there really aren't any etiquette rules in pool. Anything goes.
