OK,So who else wants to know how I'd play efren ?

I was asked in the pool hall yesterday if and how I would play Efren Reyes(hypothetically of course)

This is my answer..I'd play Efren like this.

Bar Table 9ball:The breaks+the wild 6,7,8+the last 2(I would bust any living human like that)...Or, I'll take 2:1 odds and play him winner breaks with me getting the 7 and the last 3

Bar Table 10ball:The breaks+the wild 7,8,9+the last 3...Or,I'll take 2:1 odds and play him winner breaks with the 6 and the last 2.

Bar Table 8ball:The breaks+50% of my games on the wire(coin)...Or,I'll take 2:1 odds and play him winner breaks with me getting 40% of my games on the wire.

Bar Table 6ball: (my favorite game to play against a player) The breaks+the wild 3 and five ball...I will not play him at this game without getting all of the breaks!!!!

Eight Or Nine Foot Games

9ball:The breaks+the wild 5,6,7+the last 3...Or,I'll take 2:1 odds and play him winner breaks..I get the wild 6+the last 4

10ball:The breaks+The wild 6,7,8+the last 4...Or,I'll take 2:1 odds and play him winners breaks..I get the wild 7+the last 3

8ball:Exact same way on Barbox.

Onepocket:13-4 at alt.breaks..Or,13-5 I get all breaks..Or,14-5/13-5..Or,None of my fouls count+he plays 2 and stop+I get all of the breaks at 10-7..

Full Rack Banks:10-5

Short Rack Banks:5-2

Somebody contact Efren..He's got action here in Baton Rouge!!..Over 10K worth!!:) :)
 
So you will play Efren Big Table 8 ball 30-15 race winner break on the TV table at the Derby in January for oh...say $5K?

Unless you are one of about 100 guys not named Walt Frazier we could probably put it together.

Edit: Just noticed the $10K part. Even better.
 
Be careful you do not get too exhausted from starting all these useless threads, might affect your match with Efren. Although you'd get plenty of rest while you watch Efren rob you.

Walt,
My advice is do what I did 2 years ago: play him even. If I'd actually won a game at least I would have something about which to brag (I don't).

If you fail to heed this advice; at least let us know when you are going to make your donation.....errr....game with the Magician - we all will want to watch.

I see you conveniently left out the breaks..and I said he had action on my turf.I'm not playing on the TV tables at Derby.I have no plans of that happening. The only way I would seriously agree to a game with Efren is on my terms (as in my original post) and on my turf.

Yeah,I'll try Efren some 8 ball 10-20 on my home table.I get all of the breaks.Send me a pm if you want to do something.

I'm no champion,but I'm no cripple either..I'm not scared of any of 'em.They all miss . All you have to do is get the game right.. I'll play Godzilla with the right spot......and beat him!
 
My purpose for this thread is not to come on AZ and woof at Efren..I know that he is the best player in the world and I am no where near on his level as a player;however,I was answering a question that was directed to me in sort of a "what if" type of way.

FWIW,I am in no hurry to play Efren..but by the same token,I've paid my dues(as has he) and with the right spot he or anyone else for that matter could get played.

You must be new to this .Let me educate you.The objective is to always attempt to get a game that will give you the best chance of winning..That's what it's all about ..and if you disagree with me you are either a total novice to gambling or you are mad at your wallet..When I play, I'm not looking for style or popularity points..I'm trying to bust the guy I'm playing(and it aint always pretty)..Bottom Line!

Btw,Just so you know..A weaker player never has the dead nuts against a champion(regardless of the spot)..You may look at my proposition games and think I'd be stealing but in all actuality I think it would be gambling(all things considered)..I would be lucky to win against Efren no matter the game or the spot.
