Quick question: I want to polish up dymondwood rails with an orbital buffer and have some auto polishing compound (turtle wax brand). Will this be safe and do a good job?

Thanks. I did the job last week. I taped off the cloth edges and the wood underneath the top rails with painter's tape. Then used polishing compound, then a dry microfiber bonnet, then finished with Mequiar's wax. It came out well. The dymondwood is smoother to the touch and this seemed to clean up the light haziness.

I was told by Brian from Diamond I could use sandpaper first to get scratches out but I was too scared to try that.

The sand paper works great. Just have to gradually go down. These scratches and chunks were about 1/8 deep at the worst. I started with 80 grit and finished up with 1200 then polished with cleaner wax. Looks as good as new now.
