Anyone know of any certified instructors in the OKC. Area. One more question/ comment. I think an instructor should be substantially more skilled than the student. I am speaking of an advanced type student, not a beginner or intermediate type player. Really not interested in going back to fundamental type learning. Show me things I don't know. If an instructor is not already up to my speed, not necessarily shotmaking but knowledge, how can he help me? Not trying to be negative about instructors, just tell me how this could work.

I don't agree completely with your premise. I know several pros who have worked with instructors, where the pro was more skilled than the instructor. I have had a world champion come to my class, and know a few others who have gone to my fellow instructors.

Yes, and instructor should have the skill and ability to demonstrate whatever they are teaching, but the ability to identify problems with a player, and effectively communicate the information needed is far more important.

As for local instructors, go to www.bca-pool.com click on the learn pool tab, and then find an instructor.

Randy will probably jump in with his personal recomendations for you.

Steve is right again......not sure what kind of instructor or what type of info your trying to learn........but a good instructor/player IMOP would be DAVID MATLOCK for your feelings that a instructor should be better than the student lol.

kicking and banking is his specialty I've worked with him a number of times over the years.

good communicator and patient.......EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE

player 1st instructor 2nd..........plays any game with a ball at top speed. Pool, snooker, Billiards doesn't matter.

guaranteed David could blow your mind but he's up in Kansas.....tho can be found around OKC and Tulsa every so often.

Give him a call @ 913-269-1077

Here are some choices. The following are all SPF certified Instructors.

Buddy Eick....eightball2@cox.net
David Truelove...dtruelove@cox.net
Ricky Doyle...rwdoyle@sbcglobal.net

I'm sure you know these Instructors.

If that doesn't work then we could do this.

Make a list of the 5 things you would like to cover. I will come up for a day and work one-on-one with you.

Thanks guys. Yes David M. Does appear in Okla. City sometimes. He certainly qualifies as more skilled than myself, big time! Ironically I played David in Tulsa years ago. 9ball, big table, race to 7. 60 people herded over to watch him play but watched me lead by 2 games all the way through. He catches a gear and hill hill but I won. What a player! Best beat of my life. Randy, do you live in that large state south of Gods country? About five years ago my team took second two years in a row in the big BCA Texas dance. They invite us to the Texas tourney, but I don't know why. One year it was held in Okla.??? Go figure. Tough for Okies to play in Texas, but they were very cordial. Thanks for the info guys.
