Old Brunswick cues

I should have provided more details from the start.
The guy is asking 150 a cue but it's a bit of a hike to check it out. What is the value old cues have like this to a cue maker wanting to do a conversion, verses using the old wood for a shaft? If the cue is in fair - good shape what would it be worth? bad - fair shape probably wouldn't be worth it. Excellent shape would be valued around what? Do the old sticks vary in terms of quality of wood that can only be examined in person, or are there general guidelines to follow so I know if I am getting a good deal?
Unfortunately I don't have much experience dealing with old cues, but if there is value there I would want to learn what I need to know to make a smart transaction.

IMO, the price is too steep if you are going to covert it or cut it apart for shaft wood. There are many, many, old cues in worse shape for that.
These are priced as a collectible item because the decals are is really good shape. Still, I think it is a little high.

They are worth whatever someone is willing to pay ... Old seasoned wood is hard to come by but the down side is that the adhesives used years back are not as strong as today ... If there is any gap at the splice you can reinforce with thin CA ... They are worth more in their original condition because some people pay for that aged patina or condition ... Depending on your intentions should be what you pay for your own sake ... I would pay as much as $50 a piece depending on the quality of the wood and the diameter , strictly for conversions ... They don't grow on trees , mind you , so if you get a deal ... Hard goods are something to invest in nowadays ...

i buy these type of cues 100 at a time i use most for shaft wood. if you want to use for a conversion. one of the most important things to check out is the diameter 29 inches from the butt. a lot of these cues are 1.35 or larger at the butt, but only .80 or less at 29 inches. most modern cues are appx .85 joint and 1.25 butt.
