If you buy a DP cue at the going (low) E-bay prices, chances are you will not lose a lot. But for those who paid full bore 5 to 10 years ago, the cues have lost most much of their value. I have heard stories of collectors paying 3,000 for cues now selling for $400. Keep it or sell it? It really doesn't matter, they've already been fully de-valued at this point because of little collectible following.

It's really a shame too. I know this has been discussed over and over but the old(er) cues really were VERY nice and great players. I actually bought one of the afore mentioned cues off Ebay and it was fine for the money, but nothing like 8-10years ago. I know he says that he's building them the same way with the same quality of wood but I don't buy it. I have a friend with a VERY nice old example and it's NOTHING like the new stuff IMO. Besides the change in the pin, the hit(new) is definitely not a 2-3k hit, which it should be if it's "just like" the older ones. BTW my buddy's old one plays fantastic!
I have a Tuxedo cue that will likely never be worth what I paid....so I refuse to sell on principal.
