To everyone that keeps saying that you shouldn't run over your GF, do you think that it matters to the guy that (possibly) got screwed out of second place? It doesn't matter to him what their relationship is, if they are friends, cousins, significant others or whatever. They took away that guy's chance of playing a D player to advance and matched him up against the better player to improve their odds of winning more money.
What if they didn't know each other? Best player in the house (1), a D player (2) and a third player(3). If (2) offered (1) some cash to drop the game since (1) could easily bet (3) anyway, do you think that would be fair? What they did was basically the same thing. Everyone seems to be giving him a pass because it was his girlfriend. Like I said before, the odd guy out doesn't care what their relationship is, he and the girlfriend payed the same amount to enter so they should get the equal game.
Plyn, did you ever stop to think that maybe you got a pass from the regulars on this shady move because you where with your girlfriend? Would you have pulled the same thing if it would have been a D level buddy of yours instead of your girlfriend? Would the regulars' reaction been the same? Would the TD have let this slide? I doubt it.
Two thumbs down on this move.
Would I have pulled it? Doubt it. But if I did, I would understand that I may be risking getting my a** beat over the difference in $ between 2nd and 3rd.
