Older double splice, double butterfly cue

.820 joint 1.19 butt

Wow, you got a thick one ... I've seen some thick single brunswick butterfly without veneers but not double ones.

I've got a single butterfly conversion cue done by some guy named John Showman that plays pretty good. That one has nice thick SS joint on it - very old school.

Yes, I remember now, they're usually under .800 at the top of that upper "flame," which is why you see them being cut off below that point.

Here is a similar one on eBay.

Here is a Brunswick model 18 that I had converted.

I know a guy with one of the double butterfly cues for sale if anyone is interested. I don't know the price, but it's reasonable.

Very impressive collection. It is good to see so many vintage cues being preserved and not absuded.

Awesome collection, did you re-finish some of them or are they all original?
They've all been refinished. They're conversions except the one that looks like yours. I've got a triple one piece in original condition that I haven't taken any pics of.

Butterfly conversions

Here are a couple of conversions I did about a year ago one of them is a Brunswick Vineaux single. The other is a double I believe was a Brunswick but I cannot state that as a fact since the decal was worn completely off when I got the stick

I'm so confused. 4 1/2 years later and you just tried it out? Or just got it converted to a two piece?
and.......is anything actually for sale here? lol

maybe I'm too new here, but I don't understand the number of threads just asking for info in the for sale section

Saunier/Wilhem

Could anybody tell me anything about this cue,I have the same one and know nothing about it. It sells on classic cues for $750 with no explination about its origin.
Thanks

I picked up one of these a few years back on Ebay. The shaft had been cut-off at about a foot from the joint, but I bought hoping to find another shaft.
As other posters mentioned, it's a skinny cue, so matching a shaft would be a problem.

After much searching, I discovered it was a Saunier/Wilhem cue (details on a Google Search), though Brunswick and a couple other companies made a very similar cue.

The butt on mine looks like it played half a million games. Countless dings and scrapes, and the bumper had decomposed and could not be removed. My first thought was, "Boy the stories this cue could tell!"

The butt was warped, but with much effort I straightened it to a playable degree. A couple years later, I bought a very old Brunswick sneaky on Ebay for almost nothing. The butt was badly warped, but the shaft (a distinct curly maple) was straight, and amazingly, it fit on the Saunier/Wilhem.

With the SW butt and the Brunswick shaft it's only 55" in length, but with a new Triangle tip, it actually plays pretty well. It weighs 18 oz.
