Once and for all!

You can take Train off the list - unfortunately, he's retired out of necessity.

Also, no disrespect intended, but Brady needs to be off of that list too. He is a good one pocket player, but can't hang with A or K in 9-ball. He is a really nice guy though:).

That is too bad. I played golf with Train a few times and he was a world class pool player back in the day, and a nice guy.
I still see him hanging out every once in a while, but I sure do miss watching him play.

He WAS a world class pool player, he IS a world class guy.

I was just going by the fact that he beat Kelly in an ahead set.

I understand. It is just my humble opinion. When was that ahead set you speak of anyway? I am curious.

don't know. Brian told me on the phone yesterday when I spoke to him.

All I can say is wow!!!

It took all of these pages to get this great post. I don't know what the real number of men are that beat the top 5 women but based on watching the women miss easy shots on huge pockets leads me to believe that there are a bunch of men that are the favorite.

I know Allison and Karen are #1 and #2 in most peoples minds, but I think if you are going to match up a woman against a man in a long set it should be someone like Ga Young Kim (sp?) She has a bigger offensive gear and break than A or K. IMO................ She isn't quite as consistent but should have at least as good of a chance as A or K do.
I have only seen Ga young play on t.v. .....but she is who comes to mind when I think of the best women players ....however it is hard to get a guage on a players speed watching a t.v. match......

I can't see the difference? But if you want to bet on that statement as you quoted it then I will be more than happy to get one either Allison, Karen, or Kelly matched up with a "top man" for a week's worth of nine ball and see if she wins one set.

Can we double the bet and triple the bet when it goes to two weeks and three weeks.

And yes, I read and comprehend just fine thank you and thanks again for reminding me why it's better that I stick to selling cases. Educating the unwilling to learn is not my strong suit.

You said "No woman pool player today can ever win against any of the top 1000 men playing 7 or 8 ahead 7 days in a row"

You got a bet there Mark - Post a list of who you think the top 1000 men players in the world and we will publish that list for review. When all have more or less agreed on the list then I will stake Kelly Fisher to play the #1000 person on the list with the following conditions. They play 7 ahead sets for seven days - 12 hours a day and if Kelly wins one set then we win. If she loses all the sets then you win. As soon as a set is over then another must begin with slotted breaks for food.

I bet $20,000 that Kelly Fisher wins at least one set against whoever is your #1000th name - that we all agree on. I wouldn't want you to rank Orcullo at 1000 for the purpose of trapping me.

So IF you truly believe your statement above then are you willing to BET on it? Brian are you willing to bet on your number of 500?

IS ANYONE WILLING TO BET ON THE STATEMENT THAT A TOP WOMAN WILL NEVER WIN A 7 or 8 ahead SET against a the top 500 or 1000 players in the world?

By the way, would Jeff Abernathy be considered among the top 1000 players in the world? I hope not because then you have already lost the bet before you had a chance to make it. Jeff also wins against some of the players who have already been mentioned so I hope he doesn't feel slighted if you leave him off the list.

Please pay attention. I did not say "never win a set", I said "never win". If you can't tell the difference, then here's the bet: you pick your filly, we agree on my colt, we bet $20,000 a set. If your filly wins one set, then by your definition, you win. I'll take my $100,000, and go away quietly.

Someone needs to close this thread 14 pages ago. I can't believe I'm seeing this kind of crap on AZB.

It's a debate/discussion/argument about pool. Many people (myself included) find it very entertaining. It get s a little old talking about SVB or OB-1 sometimes don't you think?

agreed. you can get that from reading a pool magazine or a book. The entire premise behind a forum is to voice opinions on subject matter related to the forum topic with others that share that interest. In my opinion this thread delivers that. I choose to use humor in some of my posts because I find that humor makes me happy and helps me enjoy my life, which is great. I am probably the happiest person I know. I love interacting with other posters on a daily basis and have made a lot of friends that I hope to meet one day. This thread embodies what the forum is suppose to be about IMO. Not everyone is going to have the same opinions, and that is ok.

No offense taken, but he told me this while we were gambling at my limit, and he knew that. So I don't think he wast trying to match up with me. I have seen both him and Allison play plenty of times, and I would have to bet on Allison. Don't ask me to gamble on that until a match is set in stone though.......this is all a waste of an argument IMO.
chew called me today and told me that you were asking him how he would play allison WHILE HE WAS TRYING TO MATCH UP WITH SOMEONE ELSE naturally he had to play it off as if he needed weight.

Interesting, that's not how I saw it at all. But Chew is a good guy with no reason to lie about such a silly subject, so I am sure you can take his word on it. I would really like to see him match up with the guy he was looking to get a game with (don't know if we're trying to keep it a secret or not), I just don't see it happening.

thanx J , ....Karen lives near a friend of mine , he says she is a very nice person. hope I get to see some action with the women next time they are near here ....

Its really a shame that some people go through life without a sense of humor. These are the ones that usually end up angry at the world for no real reason. Laughter is a great remedy for alot of things. JMO.
