One foot on the floor rule.

I could swear that at one time referees could award a foul to a player who in the process of assuming a difficult stance he momentarily had both feet off the floor, even just for a second. Not during his stroke, just trying to get a comfortable shooting position. This scenario happens often...no foul.

the rule is when cue contacts the cb, one foot needs to contact the floor.

they forgot to include this rule at the first IPT event. big money on the line, some player saw a loophole and tried to take advantage of it..

In the 90s experimented with springing upward to generate cue speed - breaking of course. This had to result in a hop; don't recall the timing - abandoned the idea. Anyway I thought leaving the floor at all was a foul - Jeff DeLuna etc... but I guess it's not. The gay acrobat flair OTOH I never did because it looked ghei. I always thought that kick was for some muscular reason and eventually asked why and the answer I got was on the order of planting the one foot through the recoil from the other. Duh...

You ever seen Chinese break Chinese-8? Makes me giggle every time. All this flamboyant, ballet-legged nonsense, and an enormous back swing. I know the 3-point rule is irritating, but some of them simply smash the ever living hell out of it with back spin and hope for the best. Bloody hilarious to watch.

There are also some absolute strong arm machines too, of course, with what I would call, flawless breaking technique.

In APA, it is specifically listed in the rule book as NOT being a foul.
Had this happen within the past year at our local league night. When the other team captain decided to make an issue of it, I looked it up.
Says that it is not a foul but may result in a sportsmanship violation.

Really not all that un-expected seeing how Harriman is nuttier than squirrel-shit.

My memory is that it got silly at the IPT with a handful of people climbing on the table. Looked silly too and I think the appearance is what mattered to the IPT. Most know you can climb on the table at the world's pool hall. The owner does and I'm sure assumes others are smart enough to do it without breaking cushions down. You can sit on his tables too, carefully!
