Made a video on vimeo to try it out of some one handed straight pool runs. I was going for a new high run, but didn't quite make it. Here's the link http://www.vimeo.com/13422593 Please let me know of any editing or setup improvements I can make.

Your Video

Just watched your video and enjoyed it.. You are some talented person and have a certain style for every type of shot that might come up.
But 14.1 is hard enough with two hands, let alone one.

Jesse:

Great video! And what a real out-of-the-way skill to become good at -- one-handed jacked-up! First question: what ever inspired you to want to become good at one-handed jacked-up? Was it a handicap that a player put on you (e.g. gambling) and you found you were good at it?

Second question -- did you get picked up by Kamui as a sponsor? If you did, congratulations!!

thanks!

thanks Sean! I first tried one handed when I was 15 and found that I had pretty good hand eye coordination. I got fairly good at it after a few years and started playing that way when it started getting tough to match up giving big spots. I gambled with Chris McDonald for about a year, we would play one handed one pocket. Then Mike Massey saw me practicing that way before an exhibition of his in California and we played one pocket. I ran 8 and out on him jacked up the first game and he said I was one of the best he had ever seen! That got me motivated to see how good I could get. and yeah, Kamui is sponsoring me. I'm glad it was a tip company that actually has really awesome tips! A lot of my friends around here were talking about Kamui, but I hadn't tried one. Thanks.

check out my trick shot video I made last night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scnCt6hQpcc

oh, the beautiful agony!!

You can say that again! 14.1 might be the most perfectly aggravating, heartbreaking, endlessly entertaining game ever invented. Like Mr. Schmidt said, stick me on a deserted island and I can entertain myself just running balls.

Your The Greatest.......

You're the Greatest Alice..... I mean Jesse.......... That new trick shot video is awesome.
Loved the music along with the video. You are the Man.

You have way to much time available for such things...

I am jeolous.......

Awesome Man....Keep Motivated.....

If i could......i would kneel down Jesse (hurting knee atm :p)
This is one of the most impressive one-handed stuff i ever saw!

Anyway- I am not sure if everybody know the PAT Video Series (A.Huber and R. Eckert)- on the first Video they re showing, how you can align perfectly yourself (depending on given natural physical things).
I recommend this Vid to almost everyone. For sure it s not the *Gral* for everyone, but in my opinion a wonderful way to show someone how important it is to get a perfect and repeatable procedure to get aligned perfectly.

One-handed shooting can be a great help here- most ppl just doing it for fun- but especially with beginners-or if you wanna show some errors or just *work them out* -with one-handed things you can help more than you think :)

still impressed,

Ingo

Thank you Ingo. Wait!!! I'll get you a cushion! A lot of my friends are talking about the PAT, we think it is a perfect test, and you're absolutely right, one handed is a great way to get a beginner to feel how to stroke straight.

humbled by the impressivisity of your impressedness,

Jesse

PS. what are the SPF 3 letters to success?

Hi Jesse,

S-P-F stands for Set-Pause-Freeze*. It s a *shorty* founded by RandyG if i remember correclty - the SPF Family is a group of Certified Instructors who are also here on the forum- just to name some of em: RandyG, Scott Lee, Steve aka pooltchr. I found this forum in September last year-after i have had a break for about 10 year without billards. Then i ve chosen to get myself certificated to make it official to give lessons etc. - when i saw those great instructors here on the forum and how they explain and what they teach i was impressed and saw many many things i prefer, too.
The routines they re teaching in their school is very similar to our/mine. And the process from going into alignment until the end of the stroke is named shortly *Set-Pause-Freeze*. Hope i explained it correctly and haven t forgot perhaps an *important* thing about S-P-F. Imo it s a great description and you can burn it easily into your brain (to use it as a mantra for example or so).

Short said- i m sure without reading those many excellent postings from these extremly qualified instructors i wouldn t have been that so much *on fire* to work with students and give my knowledge further.

K, Jesse, keep shootin that crazy :p

lg from germany,

ingo

That was a great video, loved the music as well!

You make the game look easy. i can't imagine getting good shape holding the cue one handed on those shots out in the middle of the table.

Thanks for sharing it!
