One handed shooting advantage over normal

I saw several pictures of the one handed spot shot action
i noticed the more upright position of the head

i have also noticed that on several shots that i have trouble hitting from the far end of the table relatively close to the object ball that i seem to make these shots easier with one hand, not that i am a even halkfway good one handed player

i have played maybe 5 games in the last 20 years one handed

none the less i think it is easier to make the long shots, when close to the object ball better

do you think it has anything to do with aiming better fom a more upright stance?

From my experience, it has more to do with proper body alignment. When shooting one handed, you forget about your normal stance and basically try to stand so as your arm naturally goes straight.

I had this very problem with a student. He could make the shot one handed more consistently than two handed. When he put his other hand on the table, he would change his alignment to what felt comfortable to him.

I got him to change his stance to what it was one handed. Took some time for him to get comfortable with it, but he is more accurate and consistent now.

Nice post, makes a lot of sense.
