Hey I was just wondering if anyone would be interested or at least have an opinion on at least what it might be worth. The cue is the level 8-32 in the BlueBook 2nd Edition. Shows retail of $2000, but 98% should be worth $3000, cue was built in 1996 that's shown in the book, but here's the kicker, where the cue in the book has plastic white inlays, mine has Genuine Ivory. Ivory Buttcap, Ivory Joint, 2 shafts with Ivory Ferrules. Built in 1980 unplayed and in Perfect Condition. This is a true Bob Meucci "Custom Cue". I can't send pictures because, I'm not sure if I'm going to buy it or not, the guy wants $3000 and I was just wondering if that's an accurate amount. This one is definately a tough call. I would appreciate any response. and the but and nose is ebony
Thanks,
Greg

3,000 and it was built in 1996 which means its just a plain ole Meucci, UGHIES. Maybe if it was a Meucci Originals it "might" be worth it. And i do express the word "might". I'd have me a one of a kind Tascarella for 3,000. And you can bet the resell on the Tascarella would eat the Meucci alive. I'm not hating on Meucci, as because i myself am a Meucci collector, but i only have Meucci Originals. Most of which are still unchalked and unused. If u have 3,000 to spend on a Meucci. You better save that 3,000 and put it fourth a REAL one of a kind cue. Meucci is good, but theres too much contraversy over "one of a kind" Meucci's. Plus as i said, the resell is a killer....=-)

> The guy in Virginia that owns billiardcue.com has an original "Crown Jewels" Meucci, made in 1982,unchalked and unhit, and only wants 3300 for it,it also has real ivory in it,and I think it has Micarta joint collars and ferrules. Most people here would seriously doubt a 1996 Meucci has real ivory in it,Bob used to use a fairly cheesy plastic that looked real enough to fool some. Without a close inspection by someone that really knows their stuff,3000 is too much. See if you can get him to throw in another 20 cues,LOL. Tommy D.

1st you said it was built in 1996, then in the next paragraph you say it was built in 1980.....

Personally, I would pay a nickle for a Meucci as I think they are the worst playing cue in the world, unless you like a stick that plays like a wet noodle....

But hey, if it moves you enough to reach for your wallet, buy it...

:D

Meucci

Hi,
Perhaps you didn't understand what I said, The Bluebook shows the "1996 Production cue" The cue with all of the Ivory which was built by Bob Meucci (Not Meucci Productions) was built in 1980 and has never been chalked. I'm interested in knowing that since you are a Meucci Collector, do any of yours have Genuine Ivory inlay, joint and buttcap also ivory ferrules? The one I'm debating on buying has all Ivory and is Definately "One of a Kind" . I guess what I am trying to say, is, that if there ever was a Meucci worth $3000, this one would be it. It was made by Bob Meucci and is not a Meucci Production cue, plus all of the Ivory and Ebony in it, that's what makes it a rare egg.
Thanks,
Greg

One of a Kind Meucci

Hi Tommy,
This cue was made in 1980, it's definately Ivory Buttcap, joint inlays and ferrules. Never chalked and unhit. I was just using the Bluebook 1996 cue as a comparison in cue style I'm sorry that I confused everyone. This cue was made by Bob in 1980.
Thank You,
Greg

It's been on the billiardcue.com website for several years at $3300. I think it's safe to say it's not what you would call a hot investment.

Jim Rempe 7

Hi all. I'll add my 2 cents also.

The 95-32, the 97-32, and the discontinued Red HOF 8 do not have the ivory. However, even using a magnifying glass, it's hard to tell the difference.

The Jim Rempe 7, commonly referred to as the King James or the Crown Jewels, from the Meucci Jim Rempe series is virtually identical to the previous 2 model 32s mentioned. However it DOES have all the ivory, butt cap, joint, and ferrules. Make sure u can c the swirls/x-ing/grain in the ivory, or it's not a JR 7, but one of the 32s. I do have a brand new JR 7 w/3 never chalked shafts. I bought it from an old Meucci dealer's private collection, and I did c his bill of sale from Meucci confirming it to b a JR 7. Mine was a custom order by that dealer adding the 3rd shaft and also a lavendar stained forearm. What the originator of this thread is asking about is simply a JR 7, and not a custom one of a kind. The Blue Book has it's value (last I heard) at $2400 in good shape. I'm sure brand new would b more. ;) Here is a link:
