How about Jimmy Mendoza in the first round? Took out Johl Younger pretty easily.

Way to go Jimmy!

Maybe Meiko isn't the only member of your family that can play.

;)

Mike

Just posted the next update to the brackets. Jimmy is still at at.

"Nice to meet you Mr Uchigaki. This is the one-loss side. Make yourself comfortable."

Anyone wanna bet 500 Vbucks on Jimmy's next match? I will take Edwin.

Mike. I think it would be alot of fun to make the Vbucks thing more permanent and have its own section where every major tourney for the Joss your or the worlds or the sands has a initial betting thing in place and you can bet on the event from the start with starting odds. Give everyone about $500 each week or so added to whatever they have left from previous betting.

LMAO! Unfortunately for Jimmy I get the feeling he won't win his next match.

Celtic, I like the idea. We would just have to figure out how to set the odds and find out who is playing at the events. I do plan on putting odds on as many events as possible.

Thanks for the support, Mike ;). Unfortunately for me, I did lose that match against Edwin. I didn't miss any balls, but everything about the match was 1-sided. He had a couple early combinations, a 9 on the break, and he was breaking very well. I didn't get many opportunities and I was coming up dry on the break every time (admittedly, I did make one 9 on the break, which was one of only three balls I made on the break the entire match, but it was much too late to make a difference). He played very well, and seemed like a nice guy. I still would have liked to beat him though! Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day!

P.S. Either of you Canadians wanna bet on my next match? I don't know the guy at all, and I don't know if he resides in Canada, but I'd bet something just to give you two some action. Also, I know you want to claim Alex and Edwin as your own, but they're Philipino's! :D

P.S.S. The final score of my match against Kenichi Uchigaki was not 9-3 as reported in the brackets online. It was hill-hill. I was impressed with his game and was happy to squeak by with the win.

Bah, we need those guys for Canada to be respectable in the pro ranks :P Edwin is real strong, hope you took no offence to my betting against ya, he is from my home town and I have had the pleasure of playing him in many tournaments, him winning the lions share of matches. He is a VERY strong player that few people know compared to the major pros.

Sorry Jimmy but I had to stick with my hometown player, I wish you nothing but luck on the one loss side of the board.

As for Alex and Edwin I have an idea, since their both in Reno why don't you approach them yourself and ask them their opinion on this, I'm a little more than sure they will tell you they are proud to represent Canada.

edwin is a strong player but he's no pro...hennessee shot his liver out 2 days in a row and will gladly play him again...and hennessee is nowhere close to a pro...i think you've got your man a little overated

He played real well against me. He beat Tony Chohan out of $1000 the night before our match. I didn't watch all of it, but it looked like he was playing pretty good.

Jimmy, gimme a call when you get a chance. Play good, work on your break, try some new things out, and just win! Thats all ya gotta do, just win! No problem, right? Good luck.

I disagree. Edwin Montal can play. He is a barbox specialist, but can play the 9 footers well too. Other than the big hitters, I don't think Edwin has to lose to anyone. In my opinion.

Eric

i didn't say he couldn't play as a matter of fact i said he was a strong player...didn't know he was a bar table player...but he can play hennessee even on the bar table to...since edwin is a pro he should have know problem with that...and no he doesn't have to lose to hennessee or any other non pro but he seems like a front runner to me and in a long session that won't cut it

Great job Jimmy, sounds like you are hitting the balls real good. I used play down at Tommy Baker's pool tournaments with you about 10-11 years back. Your game must be really strong now. Good luck the rest of the way.
