One of the most amazing Ivory Pointed cues!!!!!!!

I apoligize in advance for putting this in the for sale section when I probably will never sell it. I just wanted everybody possible to see and enjoy this cue. I will tell you about the cue first and then who built it and his contact info. The cue weighs 19.4oz, 5/8" ivory ferrules, perfect shafts at 3.9oz and 3.8oz. The nose and butt is Monkey Pod. A very rare beautiful wood. Yes , Everything white is real Ivory. Infact, this Ivory came from a 30 year old piece of Elephant tusk. Stable and heavily grained. For a crisp hard hit the handle is one piece of Diamond wood that goes cored into the nose and butt sleeve. Everything white is Ivory. The slabes are full milled dead even and perfect. Infact the Ivory used for the points had to be over a 1/4" Thick. Very expensive, but done right!! Now... I have owned just about all the premier cues, Southwest, Dennis Searing, Mottey, Etc... My honest opinion of having a cue built this way with the Ivory points was going to make it more of a show piece and not real players cue. I don't know how he did it but it is quite they opposite. It hits like a stiff Brick Sh#@ house with almost no deflection and great balance and feel. The detail in the butt is also very nice. He put an Ivory insert up in there. The wrap is real Lizard and is perfect!! Unbelievable!!!! I am a Master player so I know a little bit about the way a cue should hit and this cue exceeded what I expected. The builder Is Scott Gracio from the west coast. He can be reached at 509-953-1219. Guys, I know theres a lot of cue builders out there but he is defenitly a perfectionist and a premier builder. Call him, Prices are fair and quality is awesome!!: View Photos Here!!!

Why in the world would he put a piece of ivory up into the inside of the buttsleeve? I don't get it.

I've seen pics of SCOTT's work as cues were in various in-process stages.

My interest is piqued.:)

that ivory up there looks to be the hoppe ring.. it looks solid..

and my question is if its solid, whats holding it and the buttcapp on?

glue?

chris

That's not the hoppe ring. Take a look at the pic Scott Gracio cue 002.JPE and then Scott Gracio cue 010.JPE. The ring starts around 3/8" up from the bottom of the butt wood, but lookin up into the butt at the insert it is definitely further in than 3/8".

No

Its not the hoppe ring. It is a insert for clean show purposes. Usually he dates and stamps in there. I asked him not to. Also, Scott does his tip of the pin custom to signafy it being his cue. And again, NO it is not the Hoppe Ring. I could see somebody thinking that though.:D

Everytime I try to upload 640X480 it says to big.. I'll try Photo Bucket.

Nice cue! If you dont mind talking about his cues, what do they cost? How long is his production time? How many cues does he put out a year? Where on the West Coast is he located? (I dont feel like looking up his area code)

Thanks, John
