One pice v two piece cues

For what ever reason I find playing with a one pice cue gives me a more solid hit on the cue ball and I own several two piece hand made cues. I can pull a house cue off the wall and with the right tip it feels more balanced and comfortable in my hand. Is it just me. Has the custom cue business improved the game that much or am I kidding myself?

Mr Tascarella Sr. Told me the story, your prob ably right

Maybe the Brit’s aren’t idiots

IMO, you're most likely kidding yourself if you're saying a house cue, any house cue is better than a well thought out 2pc cue.
Sure, if you compare a house cue with a nice tip vs not, or a $50 2pc cue, you might have a point.

That said, there is a chance of picking up a really nice house cue. Chances aren't good. One of the best players I ever personally knew played with a house cue. He went through many of them to find one he liked and he had the room owner store it behind the counter.

Early builders just tried to build a cue to match the play of a house cue that didn't require toting around a snake coffin to play with.

Might need to change ferrule and tip on a quality one piece, then it will play with anything. With the coming of carbon fiber I will say that might be a better mousetrap but it is going to have to stand the test of time.

The top cue builders can match the play of a one piece now, few would claim they have surpassed it.

I've used my friends' half-jointed cues in the occasional frame or two. I'm not too familiar with American pool cues, so I've forgotten what brand it was, but they hit better and felt far nicer than any rack cue I've used in the hall.

Conversely, any half-jointed English pool cue I've used has felt terrible compared to my one-piece. The balance was off, the joint snagged in facial hair, and it felt cheap to play with.

When I use the one piece cue in the room I put a cue sleeve over it to avoid skin rash.

The cue tip is usually deformed if its in a banger room, so it helps to have shapers for that.

Dust and oils stick to the equipment.

If anyone needs competition cue sleeves, LMK. Its on version 7.4a

Competition cue sleeves allow you to put captions on the cue:

Funny captions like:
I choke on the 9
Do you need weight?
Are you new here?

Or more aggressive captions like:
Shoot or die
No Way Puti
This ball is going down
Watch me from the chair
