I have a chance to get this book and was wondering if it was still relavant to the game the aggressive way it is played today?

Give me some feedback please!!

I'm just an avg player.... I have both Winning One Pocket, and SMS. I think if anything, they are on the aggressive side, and fit well into today's aggressive game.

I am a One Pocket player, and have owned both books by Eddie.
From experience, I can tell you they are very good for referencing shots, or situations, that come up during play.
Also: Practice banks until your minds eye can recognize them and execute them properly.
Practice breaking.
Break the balls, then with ball in hand practice running out.
Find someone who is a better player than you and play them often.
And remember. If it's not a good shot, don't shoot it.
Learn One Pocket history. There have been a lot of very good players that have gone on before you and I. :)

I have both books and I heartily recommend them.

...a little poignancy here....Grady gave them to me.
rip, Grady

Let me put it this way. Out of both books I have learned shots that have won me more money than the books cost me. Aside from the rare nature of the book and the quality of it the content inside is golden information from the greatest players of the game and will always be relevant to one pocket.

eddie robbins book are considered the gold standard of 1p books
yes they are still relevant
i dont think you will find a serious top level one pocket player who hasnt read them

This is a must have book. And it's not like every one pocket player has the skills of Scott Frost. Amd, much of the book have both safer and aggressive options.

Freddie <~~~ best pool book ever, IMO

Which one should I get first, winning one pocket or shots/moves/strategies?

Only have resources for one at this point.

I have had all 3!.....he also did a real good job on his 3 cushion book as well!

You can't go wrong with these books, BUT along with them if you find someone better then you to spar with.....even better!

have fun........G.

check out some of the diagrams of OPHOF'r Ronnie Allen's shots. Aggressive to say the least. Until RA came along, OP was about as exciting as watching your yard grow. Ronnie got schooled by Fatty at JC and then proceeded to change the game forever. Both books by ER are awesome.
