We are talking 1p here, right? What kind of shot in 1p comes up where you manage to bounce the object ball off table and at the same time keep the cue ball on table? Who shoots that hard when they try to move or make a ball in 1p?.

Well, its definately not a planned shot, but sometimes when you are trying to clear balls or something, an OB will catch the rail wrong and spit off the table. Even trying to jump the ball out of the pocket sometimes has some funny consequences... I've had both balls fly off, only the OB fly off and even just the CB go airborne.

For one, maybe their pocket was filled with balls during a run and they had to shoot firmly to get on game ball. The object ball could easily pop off the table leaving the cue ball on the table. But many times it happens when you are a little jacked up and hitting firmly, the object ball can get alittle air and carom off a rail or the side of another ball - example would be to clear a cluster of balls from your opponent's pocket. You may have to hit it firmly and control the cue ball at the same time. Many things can happen for this result and the balls don't have to be hit 100% tomake it happen.

in some cases this is a planned shot. there's been times that ive wanted to get an object ball off the table and not pay the foul.

I am aware off the shot where you jack up and foul when the opponents ball is deep in his pocket, but then the cue ball also always fly off the table.

It's possible but difficult to send the object ball off but keep the cue ball on. It's something you might try to do if your opponent's game ball is hung and there's a ball over the line that's playable with ball in hand.

...It must strike another rail or come off that rail and then back to it, like if it hits another object ball and then comes back to the same rail.

Please note that under WSR there is no requirement for the ball used to satisfy the rail contact rule to contact another ball before returning to the same rail. The effect is that an OB may leave a rail at a very shallow angle and then, because of an unlevel table, cloth imperfection, rail gully, or whatever other reason, return to the same rail without contacting any other ball or rail, and the shot is legal regardless of CB action.

I am aware off the shot where you jack up and foul when the opponents ball is deep in his pocket, but then the cue ball also always fly off the table.

When the last ball on the table is sitting in your opponent's pocket and you cannot easily follow it in, you may want to hit the object ball rather hard to bounce it out of your opponent's pocket and off of the table. In this case it would be a foul and the last remaining object ball and one of your balls would have to be spotted. Sometimes the cue ball stays on the table and sometimes it flys through the air like a missile.

I can't believe you've never seen that shot. We usually, shout to the people at the table just beyond the object ball before shooting the bouncing, object ball shot unless we don't like the people at the next table.
